Watch Disney, ABC & ABC Family Channels On‐The‐Go FAQs 1. What new TV apps or live streaming channels are available from RCN? RCN recently added the following apps: Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, ABC Family and ABC 2. How do I watch these channels on my computer or laptop? Simply go to: http://watchdisneychannels.com Select “Live TV” for all Disney websites http://watchdisneychannel.go.com http://watchdisneyxd.go.com http://watchdisneyjunior.go.com http://abcfamily.go.com Select “Watch Live” http://abc.go.com Select “Watch Live” From there, select your TV provider (RCN) from the available choices. You will need to enter your MyRCN user name & password. Once you sign in using your MyRCN user name & password, you will automatically be signed in when you access these sites in the future. 3. Can I access these channels with RCN2GO? These networks are not yet available through RCN2GO, but will be in the very near future. We will keep you updated. 4. How do I watch these channels on my tablet, smartphone or other mobile device? For Android, download the app(s) from the The Google Play Store For iOS, download the app(s) from the iTunes App Store 5. Is there a cost to download any of these apps? The WATCH Disney Channel, WATCH Disney Junior, WATCH Disney XD, WATCH ABC and WATCH ABC Family apps are free to download on supported mobile devices or you can watch online with your computer. 6. Which mobile devices are supported? o Apple mobile devices: iPad, iPad mini, iPhone, iPod Touch (iOS 6.0 or above) o Android mobile devices: You can visit the Google Play Store to determine if your device is compatible. o Kindle mobile devices: You can visit the Amazon App Store to determine if your device is compatible. o nabi devices: You can visit App Zone to determine if your device is compatible 7. Do the apps support iCloud for syncing between iOS devices? The apps do not currently support iCloud for syncing between iOS devices. At this time, Disney/ABC does not support any other mobile devices (including other Android devices), Internet connected TVs, set‐top boxes, or gaming consoles. If your device has the required version of Adobe Flash listed in our system requirements, you may find that the Disney/ABC sites work in your Internet browser, but they do not support such devices and cannot guarantee that WATCH Disney or ABC apps will work on your device. 8. Can I stream my iOS device to my apple TV using AirPlay? Sorry, AirPlay is not currently supported by Disney/ABC at this time. 9. While downloading one of the WATCH Disney/ABC apps, the download got stuck before finishing. If the app download icon appears stuck, you will need to delete and reinstall the app. Follow the steps below: o Touch and hold any application icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle. o Tap the "x" in the corner of the application you want to delete. o Tap Delete to remove the application and all of its data from your device. o Press the Home button. o Go to the App Store. o Search for the WATCH Disney/ABC app you want ‐ "WATCH Disney Channel", "WATCH Disney Junior", "WATCH Disney XD", “WATCH ABC” or “WATCH ABC FAMILY” and then download it again. 10. What user name and password do I need exactly? RCN Digital TV customers must use their MyRCN login credentials – which would be your user name and password. 11. What is a MyRCN User ID? Go to http://www.rcn.com and click on MyRCN at the top of the tool bar to get to the MyRCN Customer Center. On the right of this page, you’ll see where you can login to MyRCN. If you are not currently registered, you can sign up by clicking “Register Now”. If you forgot or lost your Username, you will need to call 1.800.RING.RCN to retrieve it. Customers who lost or forgot their Password can retrieve it by clicking “Forgot password”. 12. Is there anything else I need? You must subscribe to a cable TV package that includes the channel you are trying to access. For example, you must subscribe to a package that includes Disney Channel, Disney Junior, Disney XD or ABC Family (and your subscription is in good standing), in order to access these additional features. 13. What level of service do I need? You need to subscribe to the corresponding package that includes these services: Disney Channel ‐ Signature DisneyXD – Premiere Family & Children Disney Junior – Signature ABC Family ‐ Signature ABC – Limited Basic 14. Why can't I find or watch online certain episodes or movies that aired on TV? If you cannot find the programming that you’re looking for, it's most likely because Disney/ABC does not have the rights to distribute it online. 15. I was watching an episode or movie on [XX Channel] previously, but cannot find it anymore. That particular episode or movie may have expired and is no longer available. If the content programming has expired, Disney/ABC unfortunately no longer has the rights to distribute it online. 16. When do new episodes get added? Some new episodes are added by Disney/ABC as early as 30 days after they air on TV. If you subscribe to RCN Digital TV, you will be able to access full episodes when they are made available by Disney/ABC. 17. Are there Spanish language episodes available for WATCH Disney Channel and WATCH Disney XD? WATCH Disney Junior En Español is a special feature made available for Disney Junior content only. Spanish language episodes are not available for Disney Channel & DisneyXD 18. Can I resume playing a full‐episode video from where I left off? Yes, if you're on the same computer and Internet browser, the Disney/ABC “player” will automatically remember where you left off and allow you to resume the video you were watching. Select the "Favorites" section to see your viewing history and resume your video, if it has not expired. 19. Is closed captioning available? Closed captioning is available for all video‐on‐demand (VOD) full episodes. Click on the "CC" logo on the player controls to turn on or off closed captioning. For "Live" TV streaming, most shows have closed captioning available. Trouble Shooting Tips: 20. How can I watch videos in full screen? Full screen viewing is available. To get into full screen mode, move your mouse over the video player and the player controls should appear. Click the icon on the far right in the player controls, which should expand the player to full screen. When in full screen mode you can exit by clicking the icon again. The player control bar will disappear after a few seconds once the mouse has been inactive. To get the player control bar to re‐appear just move the mouse. Another way to get out of Full Screen mode is to click the ESC key on your computer. 21. I'm having audio issues. The audio is not playing. Or the audio is not synced to the video. Please follow the steps below to resolve your issue: a. Check to see if you can play audio using another application. b. Check that your speakers are turned on and aren't muted. c. Close your browser or app and open it again. d. Close other computer applications that may be open at the same time. e. If those don't immediately resolve your audio issue, then: f. Confirm that your computer or device meets our minimum system requirements. g. Restart your computer or mobile device. h. If the problem persists please contact us via our online form. 22. What are the minimum system requirements? You must have the following minimum computer system requirements in order to play videos: o A high speed Internet connection with sufficient download speeds of 1.5 Mbps or better. o Adobe Flash Player 10.2 and above. Windows o 2.33GHz or faster x86‐compatible processor, or Intel® Atom™ 1.6GHz or faster processor for netbooks o Microsoft® Windows® XP (32‐bit), Windows Server® 2003 (32‐bit), Windows Server 2008 (32‐bit), Windows Vista® (32‐bit), Windows 7 (32‐bit and 64‐bit) o Internet Explorer 8.0 and above, Mozilla Firefox 27.0 and above, Google Chrome 32.0 and above, Safari 5.0 and above o 128MB of RAM (1GB of RAM recommended for netbooks); 128MB of graphics memory Mac OS o Intel Core™ Duo 1.33GHz or faster processor o Mac OS X v10.6 or v10.7 o Safari 5.0 and above, Mozilla Firefox 27.0 and above, Google Chrome 32.0 and above o 256MB of RAM; 128MB of graphics memory 23. Video does not play at all. Please try the steps below to resolve your issue: a. Confirm that your computer or device meets our minimum system requirements. b. Check your Internet download speed (Internet download speeds should be 1.5 Mbps or better). Your wifi or mobile signal indicator does not correlate to your download speed. There are a number of web sites where you can conduct a free "Internet speed test." c. Check to see if you can view videos from other sites. d. Refresh your browser or close your browser and re‐open it. e. Close other computer applications that may be open at the same time. f. Disconnect other Internet (e.g. Wi‐Fi) connected devices that may be connected at the same time. g. Restart your computer as a last resort. 24. Video playback stalls or is choppy. Playback should not stop or stall under normal circumstances; however, video delivery may be disrupted during periods of network congestion, poor Internet connections, when too many Internet connected devices are connected at the same time, or when too many computer applications are open at the same time. Please try one or all of the following: a. Confirm that your computer or device meets our minimum system requirements. b. Check your Internet download speed. Internet download speeds should be 1.5 Mbps or better. Your wifi or mobile signal indicator does not correlate to your download speed. There are a number of web sites where you can conduct a free "Internet speed test." Do an Internet search. c. Refresh your browser or close your browser and open it again. d. Drag the rewind scrubber back in time several minutes in the program timeline. e. Close other computer applications that may be open at the same time. f. Disconnect other Internet (e.g. Wi‐Fi) connected devices that may be connected at the same time. g. Restart your computer as a last resort. 25. Is there a Customer Service number I can call? For basic questions regarding your RCN Digital TV, Internet or Phone service, please call 1‐800‐RING‐RCN (1‐800‐ 746‐4726). For specific questions about Disney/ABC video playback and other Disney/ABC technical issues, call 1‐800‐205‐1911. 26. Why can't I view games online or on my Apple TV/connected device? Disney/ABC games are currently not available online or on Apple TV/connected devices. If you would like to play games, download the apps. (exclusive to Android apps)
