Bluetest St & HP Reverberation Chambers
The Bluetest reverberation chambers can be used
for testing of small antennas and phones for any
wireless communication standard which are
designed for operation in multipath environment
with Rayleigh fading, such as GSM, PDC, CDMA,
WCDMA, DECT, Bluetooth, WLAN, and more.
The Bluetest reverberation chambers are multipath
simulators (patent pending).
The unique mode stirrers, two plate stirrers, one
rotating platform stirrer, and polarization stirring
provide good accuracy of the measurements even
in low frequency bands, such as GSM900.
The new and convenient high-speed plate stirrers
reduce measurement times to a minimum.
The measurements in Bluetest chambers replace
traditional measurements of small antennas and
wireless terminals by so-called 3D pattern
integration in antenna far-field or near-field ranges
using anechoic chambers.
Bluetest Reverberation Chambers are particularly
well suited for measuring phones in talk position
near a head phantom, in order to determine the
effect of the human body on the above quantities.
The following quantities can be determined with
good accuracy:
for wireless terminals:
total radiated power (TRP)
receiver sensitivity (TIS and AFS)
implemented antenna diversity gain
spurious radiation outside operating bands
for single- and multi-port small antennas and
antenna systems including MIMO systems:
embedded radiation efficiency on each port
diversity gain (apparent, effective and actual)
maximum available Shannon capacity
for active small antennas with integrated receive
or transmit amplifiers:
total radiated power
receiver sensitivity

Bluetest St & HP – Technical Data
Measurement accuracies and times
The Bluetest Reverberation Chambers come with a
control program. This controls the mode stirrers
and the instruments provided by the customer. The
mode stirrers can be run in different sequences.
The times shown in the table are the typical times
needed to collect all power samples within the
frequency band. The time for measuring the
reference level (calibration) is not included in the
table. This is needed once per project. Faster
measurements are possible with reduced accuracy.
Total accuracy and frequency resolution will
depend on instrumentation provided by the
customer, test frequency, chamber size and test
sequence. The numbers in the table are valid for
the Bluetest HP chamber.
