A Welcome Note from Our Pastor
Gentlemen, welcome to the 40th anniversary celebration of the St. Luke
Men’s Club’s ‘Best ever’ annual Wild Game Dinner. We have planned to
provide you with a wonderful evening with family, friends and business
associates.
We are delighted to have you here. We appreciate your support of this
activity that provides financial assistance to so many charitable
organizations and agencies across San Antonio. My prayer is that the good Lord bless you in
abundance for your generosity.
Sit back, relax and enjoy the evening.
Fr. Jim Barlow
Pastor of St. Luke Church and School
Thank You Message from Our Club President
On behalf of our entire club organization, I would like to express my deepest
appreciation for your participation and for those who join us each & every
year, your continued support of our now 40th annual Wild Game Dinner
fundraiser.
The St. Luke Men’s Club was organized in November 1959 and this year we proudly celebrate
our 55 years of service to our parish and many worthwhile non-profit charities throughout San
Antonio and beyond. The success of the annual Wild Game Dinner enables our organization to
pursue the mission of promoting and improving the general welfare of our community. We are
honored to have you join us this evening and we are excited to welcome you to our new venue.
We will strive to provide you with an enjoyable and memorable experience.
This commemorative booklet is part of our program and is provided through the direct support of
our special friends whose ads are found in this publication. We thank them for helping us bring
this new book to you and encourage your patronage.
Each year, during this event, we take a moment to remember and salute our members who
passed away since our last game dinner. These dedicated members were a big part of who we
are and tonight we honor Freemon Sattelmaier, Gullermo Gonzalez & Don Modrick. These three
men and the many that have gone before them have blessed us with their leadership, their time,
and their many talents. We are forever grateful for their contributions and commitment.
Again, I would like to thank each of you for your attendance. Your participation, and especially
your generosity this evening, has made you a partner in our success. And as Fr. Jim so
eloquently said many times “Sit back, relax and enjoy the evening.”

2014 Wild Game Dinner Live Auction Rules
To ensure the success of this evening’s live auction and to facilitate the enjoyment of our guests
we are providing this important information.
By bidding in our auction, each bidder agrees to these auction rules:
Bidders are required to register to receive an official auction bid card. The registration
table is left of our stage. Please present a photo ID.
To enter a bid, the bidder holds up his auction bid card so the auctioneer or one of his
spotters can see the official bidder number. Use only the bidder number assigned to you.
The auctioneer will determine who the successful bidder is. Please hold your card so the
bidder number can easily be seen.
In the event of any dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have the final
discretion to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer the item in dispute.
The St. Luke Men’s Club reserves the right to add or withdraw items, without notice, to
or from the auction.
All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds unless otherwise noted.
All items are “as is”. The St. Luke Catholic Men’s Club (SLMC) has attempted to
describe and catalog items correctly, but neither warrants nor represents and in no event
shall be responsible for the correctness of descriptions, genuineness, authorship,
provenance or condition of the items. No statement made shall be deemed such a
warranty, representation or assumption of liability.
Any values expressed are the donors’ estimates and are construed as fair value. The
tax-deductible portion is the amount paid over fair market value. Please consult your tax
advisor to clarify amount of your deduction.
Payment for items purchased must be made in full on the night of the auction. The
cashier is located at the table left of the stage where you registered as a bidder. Cash,
MasterCard, Visa, and Discover, or your check payable to SLMC is accepted. Please
allow 10 minutes after an item has closed before reporting to the cashier. A receipt will
be prepared for your purchases. Please verify that your bidder number, amount and item
description are correct.
Following payment, auction items should be picked up by presenting your receipt at the
check-out area located next to the cashier’s table. Unless special arrangements are
made, all auction purchases, with the exception of firearms which follow federal firearm
regulations, must be picked up the night of the auction. Any item left unclaimed, without
prior arrangements, will be sold and proceeds will go to SLMC.
Each bidder assumes all risks related to the auction including any from items obtained at
the auction. Bidders agree to hold harmless from any liability arising from the
Archdiocese of San Antonio, its ministries, the auctioneer, event sponsors, or any
volunteers associated with this event.
