responsible for the following compulsory fees:

Brief overview of the university
Western University is one of the oldest and most beautiful universities in Canada. Located in London, Ontario –

Western campus has a mix of traditional Ivy-covered buildings and modern architecture. Western offers a
beautiful environment in which to study. Western’s buildings include nine residences, eight libraries,
laboratories, classrooms, student space, eateries and cafeterias, and space for performing and visual arts.
Opened in 2009, the Western Student Recreation Centre features a 20,000-square-foot fitness centre with
more than 200 pieces of weight and cardio equipment, a 50m pool, squash/racquetball courts, five gymnasiums,
group fitness classes and drop-in gym activities.

Academic strengths
Flexibility in program choice is a key attraction bringing some of the world’s
top students to Western. Our 12 faculties and schools offer more than 200
undergraduate programs. Exchange students have the opportunity to take a
variety of courses within different programs, provided pre-requisite
qualifications are met. With so much choice, you’re bound to find courses to fit
your goals.

Departments
Exchange students are not eligible to take courses in professional programs
such as Law, Medicine, Aviation, Dentistry, Business (Ivey), Education, and
professional programs in the Faculty of Health Sciences. Please note that
courses in Management and Organizational Studies, Economics, and Media,
Information and Technoculture are very competitive and only students from
these fields can request to take courses in these areas.

Once exchange has been confirmed, students may select courses online. These
courses will be assessed by faculty members to determine if they have the
necessary academic background to succeed in the course. When the selected
courses become approved, students may then enrol into the courses online.

Living On Campus
Traditional dormitory-style residences and apartment-style suites are
available. Most residences offer a meal plan. Single students who have been
accepted by mid-May for a full-year exchange will receive a guaranteed offer of
residence or waiting list information. Residence accommodation for students
on single-term exchange depends on availability.

Western is located in a residential area with many housing opportunities close

The Government of Canada regulates international study permits and visas
through Citizenship and Immigration Canada www.cic.gc.ca .
Before students are permitted entry into Canada, they must present the
following documents to immigration officials:
• Valid Passport
• Study Permit (if applicable)
• Temporary Resident Visa (if applicable)
• Admission letter
It is the student’s responsibility to find out the immigration requirements and
to process the necessary documents for travel to Canada. Students can find
this information by contacting a Canadian Consular Office near them.

There is an airport reception that will direct the student to the Robert Q Bus
within the airport. Student must pay the Robert Q bus fare to travel from
Toronto Pearson International Airport to Western University, London. The
