New Holland Calf Auction Report for Thursday, Dec 17, 2015
Compared to last week: The special fed veal carcass market was steady
to sharply lower on comparable open market and packer owned calves on
moderate demand and light to moderate offerings. Harvest numbers
were 3.7 percent lower compared to last week's total. Dressed weights
were down 7.3 pounds in the Northeast, down 7.1 pounds in the North
Central, with the total NE & NC being down 7 pounds.

Central, 290.00 to 315.00 for Late May to Early June.
Calves: Compared to last week's report, Holstein bull calves sold
40.00-60.00 lower. Supplies were heavy as many calves born last week had
to be deferred to this week for marketing due to the Christmas Holiday.
Holstein heifer calves sold mostly 60.00-80.00 lower. Demand was
moderate. All prices per cwt.

FOB Major Production Points
Compared to last week: Special fed veal cut prices were steady to lower.
The weekly veal feature decreased 30.2 percent this reporting period.
Stew Meat and Shoulder Blade Chops were widely advertised, while Leg
Cutlets lost ad space entirely and all other cuts were minimally featured.
General price trend was steady.
