Abstract The demand of limestone and clay as raw materials of cements has to be filled so that the cement production processing becomes streamlined. Into fills the limestone and clay demands, it needed mine processing. The mine processing is done in two places, that are limestone and clay mining and the main mining tools that used are dump truck and excavator. The main mining tools determination is hard to be defined by using analytic. because the high variability of demand of limestone and clay, distance of material movement, and also the probability of crusher’s operations. Based on the problem above, it needed to do next research to determine the numbers and combinations of dump trucks and excavators that used to fill the monthly demand of limestone and clay in a year. The method that can be used to solve the problem is simulation. Simulation can imitate the real mine system so that it can develop the scenarios to do experiment to find the numbers and combinations of dump trucks and excavators. The best combination is the combination that can fill the demand and creates the lowest total cost. Based on the result of simulation, the best scenario is third scenario. Because it creates the combinations that can iii iv fill the demand and creates the lower total cost than the other scenario. The suggested scenario is operating the crusher fully in a year so that the numbers of dump trucks and excavators that needed to fill the demand becomes fewer and effective for PT. UTSG. Key words: limestone and clay mining, variabilities of system, simulation model, and concept of cost.
