Mr. Yew Cheng Wei, Brandon Acupuncturist Complementary Integrative Medicine Clinic (Clinic 6B) Tan Tock Seng Hospital Mr. Brandon Yew is a registered TCM physician practising acupuncture at the Complementary Integrative Medicine clinic (CIM), Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) since 2012. He graduated in July 2011 from the Biomedical Sciences (Hons) cum Traditional Chinese Medicine Double-Degree programme, which is jointly offered by NTU, Singapore and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (BUCM), China. The doubledegree programme spans 5 years, of which the first 3 years are in NTU, Singapore, while the final 2 years in BUCM, Beijing, China where he received clinical training at the Dongfang Hospital, a BUCM-affiliated hospital providing healthcare services integrating TCM and modern scientific medicine. Due to his vocation as an acupuncturist in TTSH, Brandon’s primary clinical interest and professionalism is in acupuncture, particularly in the area of pain management. This is because pain is often the cause for disrupting patient’s quality of life, which Brandon firmly believes is what all that matters to the patient. Without quality of life, administering even the best treatment carries no meaning and purpose. Therefore, Brandon sincerely hopes to the best of his limited capabilities, to improve the quality of lives around him with alternative yet effective treatment. Besides clinical work, Brandon has also conducted health talks to the public and corporate firms. He even presented at the Singapore Health & Biomedical Congress 2014 on the topic Prevention of Spinal Related Pains. He co-authored and co-edited the book Herbs for Health, Food for Life, co-authored and co-translated A Health Guidebook for City Dwellers. Both books are publications of TTSH CIM.
