Individual awards Any individual nominated for an Award must be a Highland Council Tenant OR the person nominating must be a Highland Council Tenant. Thus, volunteers who are not Highland Council Tenants can be put forward for an award, if the person nominating them is a Highland Council tenant. 2. Group award Do you know a Group in your area which involves tenants, or has made a difference to Highland Council tenants and others who live in your community? Nominate a Group for this award if it plays a part in bringing the community together, perhaps in the activities or events it organises, or in the helpful services it provides. Who can’t be nominated for an Award? 1. Groups or individuals may not nominate themselves for an award. Individuals may be nominated in more than one category, if they meet the eligibility criteria for each category. 2. Highland Council employees may not make nominations, or be nominated for their paid work. Competition judges may not make nominations. Who is judging the Awards? Our judging panel consists of: 1. Two Highland Council Senior Managers 2. One Highland Council Tenant representative 3. One representative from the sponsor. If the “Tenant Judge” is nominated in any award category, they are required to withdraw from judging that category. The clerk to the judges may contact the nominator to request further information about the nomination. The judges’ decision is final. A list of the winners will be published in the Winter edition of Highland Tenant Update and available online at www.highland.gov.uk/tenantparticipation How to make your nominations by 30 August 2014 All nominations must be in writing, on the official entry form printed in this newsletter or available for download at: www.highland.gov.uk/tenantparticipation or www.highlandtenantvoice.co.uk There is no age limit except for the “Young Person of the Year” Award PR14 - 81 - k where the person nominated must be aged 25 or under at the date of nomination.
