Q. What are the benefits of subscribing to a mobile line on a SIM Only plan?
Gain freedom from being locked into a long term contract, the SIM Only plan is our most affordable
plan giving you 5GB of data monthly (3GB local mobile data + 2GB Singtel WiFi) at just $20/mth!
Q. I have filled in the online form and have submitted my order. What happens next?
For new sign-ups:
You will be contacted within 3 business days by our Singtel Sales Consultants to process your order.
They will assist you in selecting your SIM card, mobile number of choice and preferred delivery date
and time.
For plan conversion sign-ups:
Upon successful order submission, your SIM Only plan will be activated within 3 business days. A
Sales Agreement form will also be sent to you via email. Please note that successful order submission
is subjected to contract eligibility.
Q. I am a new Singtel customer who would like to sign up for a SIM Only plan online. What are
the charges and fees that will apply to me?
A one-time charge of $48.15 for registration and SIM card will apply. In addition, you will also be
charged a $15 delivery fee for the SIM card to be sent to your designated address.
Q. Is there a minimum subscription period for the SIM Only plan and the SIM Only add-ons?
Yes, a minimum 1 month subscription period applies for the SIM Only Starter Pack and each SIM Only
add-on.
Q. What will happen if I terminate the SIM Only plan within the 1 month minimum subscription
period?
You will be billed for the full one month subscription for the SIM Only line and any add-ons that you
have subscribed to.
Q. I’ve changed my mind after signing up for the SIM Only plan last month. Can I upgrade to a
Combo Plan with a mobile device now?
Yes. You can walk into any Singtel shop to upgrade your existing SIM Only plan to a Combo Plan with
mobile device at any time.
Q. Apart from data, SMS and talktime add ons, can I subscribe for other add-ons such as Caller
ID, Autoroam, DataRoam Saver Plans, V019 VAS and Caller Number Non Display for my SIM
Only plan?
For new sign-ups:
Yes, you can.
For plan conversion sign-ups:
Any valid add-ons that are tied to your existing mobile plan will be carried over to your SIM Only plan.

Q. If I don’t subscribe to any add-ons, will I be able to send and receive calls and SMS on my
SIM Only plan line?
Yes. The SIM Only plan supports voice, SMS/MMS, data and roaming by default. Incoming calls and
inbound SMS are free. Excess charges apply for any usage outside the bundle. If you have not
subscribed to any talktime or SMS/MMS bundle, outgoing calls and outbound SMS/MMS will be
chargeable.
Q. What will happen if I exceed the data bundle that comes with the SIM Only plan?
Excess data charges will be billed to you based on the prevailing pay-per-use rates. You can refer to
the MySingtel app on your smartphone to monitor your usage.
Q. I am signing up for a SIM Only plan today but I can’t decide how much data/SMS/talktime I
need. Can I change the data/SMS/talktime add-ons later?
Yes, you can change the add-ons by walking into any Singtel shop or calling the Singtel hotline at 1688.
The new bundle will be activated within 1 working day.
Q. I want to access mobile data on a phone and a tablet at the same time. Can I sign up for a
SIM Only plan and a MobileShare line?
No, you can’t. You may wish to consider signing up for 2 separate SIM Only plans and customizing the
data/voice/SMS add-ons for each device.
Q. I am currently subscribed to Combo 2 Plan and I also have a MobileShare line tied to this
Combo 2 line. What will happen if I convert the Combo 2 line to a SIM Only plan?
The MobileShare line will automatically be converted to Combo 1 because MobileShare cannot be tied
to SIM Only plan lines.
Q. I would like to change my SIM card type from my existing one. Can I do so?
We will retain your SIM card type. If you would like to change your SIM card type, you may walk into
any of our Singtel shops and do so at a fee.
Q. Can I use the SIM card that is issued with the SIM Only plan with a dongle/WiFi modem/iPad?
Yes, if you insert the SIM card into a dongle/WiFi modem/iPad, you will be able to enjoy internet access
and you can even send and receive SMS.
Q. Are there any perks for Youth/Student/Silver/Special customers who sign up for the SIM Only
plan?
This SIM Only plan is a flexible plan that can be customised to meet your individual usage

Q. Can I transfer my SIM Only plan mobile line to my friend/family member?
Yes. When you transfer your mobile line, your friend/family member will take over the exact benefits
that you had. However, a $21.40 transfer fee is applicable and will be billed to your account.

Q. Are there any handset deals for SIM Only plan subscribers?
No, SIM Only plans are intended for customers who do not want to be tied down by a 24-month
equipment contract.
Q. Can I nominate a SIM Only plan line for Mobile Plan Discount?
No. SIM Only plans cannot be nominated for Mobile Plan Discount and they will not contribute to the
line count.
Q. What if I am subscribed to a v019 VAS with a 3 month contract term?
A 3 month minimum subscription applies for the v019 add-on.
Q. Will my data usage be throttled if I exceed my data plan?
Yes, usage will be throttled when your data usage exceeds 19GB.
Q. I am currently subscribed to Combo 2 Plan and I also have a MobileShare line tied to this
Combo 2 line. What will happen if I convert the Combo 2 line to a SIM Only plan?
The MobileShare line will automatically be converted to Combo 1 because MobileShare cannot be tied
to SIM Only Starter Pack lines.
Q. I have already fulfilled 21 months of my Combo 1 plan and would like to change to a SIM Only
plan. Will I incur any penalty charges?
Yes. There will be a downgrade penalty charge as SIM Only Plan is a lower-tier plan compared to a
Combo 1 Plan. You will need to continue to serve the device agreement contract on the SIM Only plan.
As long you do not terminate the line within the remaining terms, you will not incur any penalty charges.
