VISIT JAPAN 2012 JAPAN TRUMP EXHIBITION
Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) is holding an outdoor exhibition along Orchard Road, in front of Ngee Ann City, 28 January - 26
February 2012. This is a display of the Japan Trump Cards which will be
blown up into movie size posters, featuring the beautiful sights of the 47
prefectures of Japan, Japanese cultural and food. At this unique and
interesting outdoor exhibition, visitors can expect to find a giant poker
card up to the height of four metres and there are fun photo taking
panels where they can pretend to be riding inside a shinkansen (bullet
train). During the weekends, there are Japanese theme live performances of music and dance.
The artist behind the lovely Japan Trump Cards is Ms. Yasuko Sensyu
who is well-known for her use of colours, brush strokes and child-like
feel to her artworks.
So come on down and immerse yourself in the Japanese ambience and
be transported to Japan via the huge Japan Trump Cards.

JR KANTO AREA PASS
JR East introduced the JR Kanto Area Pass on 1 December 2011,
this pass allows foreign visitors to Japan to travel unlimitedly
within the Kanto area for 3 days consecutively. The unlimited
usage of JR trains will include the Shinkansen (bullet trains) and
Limited Express trains. This pass can also be used for easy access
to Narita Airport using the Narita Express or Haneda International
Airport by the Tokyo Monorail. Other destinations which are near
to Tokyo like Lake Kawaguchi, Izu, Kusatsu, Karuizawa, Nasu
Highlands and Nikko, they are covered under the JR Kanto Area
Pass.
Price: ¥8,000 (Adult), ¥4,000 (Child)
Usage: The pass can be used through the year of 2012

TOKYO SKY TREE
The world’s tallest tower, Tokyo Sky Tree, which stands at 634 metres, is
located at Narihirabashi and Oshiage districts in Sumida Ward of Tokyo. The
foot of the tower covers an area of 400 metres from east to west, connecting
Narihirabashi Station and Oshiage Station, encompasses an area of about 3.69
hectares. This tower functions as a transmission facility for digital broadcasting services to 5 commercial stations and NHK. It is also equipped with disaster prevention features. There are 2 observatories, one at 350 metres and the
second at 450 metres. At these 2 observatories, one can get a panoramic view
of the lively Tokyo city both in the day and night. There are also a variety of
shops and restaurants at the tower.
The Tokyo Sky Tree Info Plaza is currently opened for visitors who want to
know more about the tower. This info plaza provides services like tourist information for Sumida Ward, brochures and pamphlets related to the surrounding
areas, overview of the Tokyo Sky Tree project and etc. The official opening
date for Tokyo Sky Tree is 22 May 2012. Do not miss out the opportunity to

KIRISHIMA TRADITIONAL CULTURAL PERFORMANCE NIGHT

Kumendaiko" and "Kirishima Kagura"!
Kirishima is well-known for the legend of "Tenson Korin", and the
myth is based at Takachiho peak of the Kirishima mountain range.
