Students must complete an elective focus.
Elective focus consists of three classes within the same area.
Classes must be above and beyond the graduation requirements. Students completing a CTE elective focus must complete three classes in the same CTE Program of Study.

Students are required to take an English class each year.
English 9 has a State Assessment.
English 10 has a State Assessment.
English 11 has a State Assessment.
Fine Arts & World Language requirements may be waived if
not attending a university and may be replaced with a second
elective focus.
Student and parent/legal guardian must sign waiver.
The two credits must be within the same language.
Students are required to take a math class each year.
Algebra 1 has a State Assessment.
Geometry has a State Assessment.
Algebra 2 has a State Assessment.
Biology 1 has a State Assessment.

Elective Focus Areas
An “Elective Focus” is simply three classes within the same area of study.

DUAL ENROLLMENT SELECTIONS/OPTIONS
•
Dual Enrollment (Jump Start) courses are offered through a partnership between
Sullivan Central High School and Northeast State Community College. Instructors
from Northeast State teach these courses at Sullivan Central and students receive
college credit for successful completion of the courses. There are fees associated
with these courses. In addition to the courses listed below, Dual Enrollment courses
are also offered through a welding cohort. This cohort requires an application
process through the school counseling office.
Classes for the Academic Elective Focus must be above and beyond the graduation
requirements. (In other words, classes requried to graduate do NOT count towards an Academic type Elective Focus.)
Students choosing a CTE elective focus must complete three classes in the same
CTE Program of Study.
