My Spanish Colors & Shapes Game and Activity Pack
Learning to speak a second language is so important in today’s global culture. However, teaching your child
a second language isn’t always easy, especially if you do not speak that language yourself. However, games
can make the process easier and more fun for everyone. When kids are having fun, they don’t even realize
they’re learning! This also helps create a love of learning in the child, which will serve a child well throughout their lifetime!
This activity pack is jammed packed with 15 games and activities to help your child learn 11 colors and 17
shapes in Spanish! This pack also teaches children to read Spanish color and shape words so it is great for
older children as well as preschoolers!
We welcome all comments, questions, suggestions, ratings and reviews!
Also, don’t forget to visit Eastern Wind Academy on Facebook and on Twitter at easternwindacad.

Color and Shape Self-Checking Puzzles (pages 7-21): On each page, you will see two different
colored puzzles. Cut out each color as one big piece (there will be four squares within the piece).
Cut each puzzle vertically up the middle so one the left hand card will have the color itself and a
small picture below while the right side will have the vocabulary word with the same small picture
below. The pictures underneath the left and right sides should be the same picture. Fold each side in
half so that the left hand side has the color on the front and the small picture on the back. Tape or
glue to hold sides together. Repeat the process with the right side and the vocabulary word should be
on the front with the small picture on the back. When your child has put the puzzles together, turn
them over and the pictures on the back should match.
Color Game Cards:
You may use page 46 to print a design on the backs of your game cards. This helps prevent the child
from seeing through to the other side.
Level 1 (pages 22-24): Cut out cards along horizontal and vertical lines.
These cards provide student with multiple clues as to the meaning of the color word enabling
them to easily match color word with the color itself. This is great for students just learning
color vocabulary!
Level 2 (pages 25-27): Cut out cards along horizontal and vertical lines.
These cards provide the student with only one clue as to the meaning of the color word. This
is great for students who have been working on their color vocabulary as it offers them a bit
of a challenge and a chance to exercise their new vocabulary!
Level 3 (pages 28-30): Cut out cards along horizontal and vertical lines.
These cards do not contain any clues. Your child will need to match the cards relying on their
learned vocabulary.
Note: It is highly recommended that these cards be printed on cardstock for durability as well to
prevent seeing the through to the back side of the card. You may also laminate for added durability.
