Dear students: Welcome to the Spring semester at UMKC! We will be using the on‐line system WileyPLUS in conjunction with your Calculus textbook. You are required to have access to it and you need to enroll yourself in the WileyPLUS classes. The purpose of this note is to make sure you know how to get access to WileyPLUS. Please take a moment to identify the Calculus class you are enrolled in. Our Calculus classes are as follows: Meeting time Instructor name MATH 210 (Calculus I) –Section 0001 (12806) MTWR 9:00am WILLIAM KALAHURKA MATH 210 (Calculus I) –Section 0002 (12807) MTWR 10:00am MEGAN OLDROYD MATH 210 (Calculus I) –Section 0003 (12808) MTWR 11:00am ARI BAVEL MATH 210 (Calculus I) –Section 0005 (15255) TuTh 5:30pm JUSTIN HOFFMEIER MATH 210 (Calculus I) –Section 0006 (17535) Internet class STEPHANIE VAN RHEIN MATH 210 (Calculus II) –Section 0001 (12809) MTWR 11:00am LIANA SEGA MATH 210 (Calculus II) –Section 0002 (12810) MTWR 12:00pm ERIC HALL MATH 210 (Calculus II) –Section 0003 (12811) TuTh 5:30pm NAVEEN VAIDYA MATH 210 (Calculus III) –Section 0001 (12816) MTWR 10:00am NOAH RHEE If you took a Calculus class in the past semesters at UMKC, then you probably already have a WileyPlus access code. Your access is still valid, and you can go ahead and enroll in your new Calculus class this semester; follow the steps on the next page for enrolling. If you did not take Calculus before at UMKC, then you need to make a choice on the purchase of a textbook and/or WileyPlus access. Below are your choices: Option 1: Purchase a new text from the UMKC bookstore; they have the loose leaf version of the text for $170.70. Any new text comes together with a WileyPlus access code. (So you do not have to buy anything else!) To register your code, follow the steps on the next page. * You can return books to the UMKC bookstore during the first two weeks of classes for a full return (you can’t have opened the access code card!) Option 2: Buy WileyPLUS access only, from the Wiley web page. You won’t have a physical book, but you will have access to an eBook; the price is $80. *The $80 price is a special price for UMKC students. When checking out you must enter the promo code MKC01 *The online access to Wiley and the eBook will only expire if the book goes out of print. *If you do not want to buy the code right away, you can still enroll in your WileyPLUS class. After two weeks you will be reminded to pay the $80 (remember the promo code MKC01), or else your access will expire. Option 3: Purchase on‐line a used textbook AND a Wiley access code as described in Option 2. This option could be the least advantageous, since you would be paying for both the book and the access code. The steps on the next page describe how to register for your new class (Use the registration code that you already have, or buy one along the way.) Steps 1. Go to the WileyPLUS homepage https://www.wileyplus.com/WileyCDA/ 2. Click Get Started in the Students section of the homepage. The Course Finder page will display. 3.
