Y n Economic factors: Because health care costs have risen steeply in recent years, you may be considering the elimination of one or more benefits, such as disability insurance or vision care. Before you take away a benefit, however, take into account how employees will perceive a major modification to their coverage. It may be better to ask your employees to pay more in deductibles and co-pays than ask them to give up benefits they really like. n Increased turnover: An increase in your turnover may signal that your benefits program is no longer competitive. n Change in demographics: Check frequently to make sure your benefits are adequately serving your employee demographics.
