outstanding rare book collection and
unique modern architecture.
On the weekend, take the University’s

at the stylish Bow Tie Cinema or enjoy
lunch and browse through the books at
the eclectic Atticus Bookstore.
The large student population in the
area means that there is fantastic
nightlife every night of the week and
something for everyone. Try Firehouse
12 or the iconic Toad’s Place for local
bands and live music, or the Joker’s
Wild Comedy Club for the funniest
show in town.
For a relaxing day with your new
friends, visit the historic New Haven
Green in downtown New Haven,
or take a picnic to Lighthouse Point
Park and enjoy the ocean views of
Long Island Sound. The Sleeping
Giant Golf Course is right next to
the University and there is always
an exciting local baseball, hockey or
basketball game to watch.
New York City is just a 90-minute train
ride away and perfect for a day trip to
shop, dine out, and watch a Broadway
musical. The historic city of Boston is
two and a half hours northeast. There
are many surrounding areas of natural
