2013 OREGON STATE UNIVERSITY ECAMPUS DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
W
elcome to Corvallis and Oregon State University for this
celebration of your outstanding academic achievements. As
distance learners from all over the world, many of you are
making your first visit to the Oregon State campus today, and there is
no better occasion than to receive your OSU diploma.
Every student’s journey toward graduation is marked by tremendous
dedication and numerous sacrifices. This is especially true of Ecampus
students – a collection of nontraditional learners who must balance
a variety of responsibilities while pursuing their education. On your
way to graduation, you raised families, worked full- or part-time
jobs, served our country in the military, moved to new places and
faced other obstacles.
Through it all, you succeeded. The effort you made to earn your
degree from OSU is inspiring, and we are delighted to share in the
celebration with you today. Meeting Ecampus students and hearing
your stories is always one of my work highlights of the year.
You now join the ranks of thousands of Oregon State graduates
who moved on to help shape the world and enhance the economic,
environmental and social welfare of our society. We are excited to
see what is in store for you next.
On behalf of everyone at Ecampus, please accept my congratulations.
Lisa L. Templeton
Executive director
