Witness a life size street fire And Road Traffic Incident and see the day-to-day jobs our Emergency Services have to do. Fire Engine Rides: Jump aboard one of our Fire Appliances and take a quick ride out with our volunteers. Only available on weekends, please check before you travel. Our Emergency Services don’t just stop at Fire, Police and Ambulance! Learn about all the other specialist services we have such as ‘Mines Rescue’ CAFE & GIFT SHOP… Take some time out of the day to sit back and relax in our Café then visit our Gift Shop and take home a souvenir. See the Original 1900’s Cells and visit one of Sheffield most wanted criminals “Charley Peace” Explore the old police workshop (formal the old stables for the police horses) and see some of the amazing vehicles used by the police! Climb into an ex South Yorkshire Police armed Landrover and try on the riot uniforms. Please note that from time to time some of our exhibits are changed around or out and about at shows so not all of the exhibits are 100% of the time on display. The museum is housed in one of Yorkshires first purpose built combined Police, Fire and Ambulance Stations, Opened in September 1900 the building has amazing history from its original Police Cells to the Engine House and Firefighters Bedrooms.
