Dear Willow School Parents, On Friday, December 7th, the Eighth Grade Class will host a Movie Night. Please join us for an evening of fun and support the eighth grade class as they begin fundraising for their end of year trip. All Willow students are invited to participate in this evening of fun. Movies will begin at 6:00 pm and end by 8:00 pm. Admission is $7.00 per person and includes popcorn and juice. K-3 students and family members are invited to the Commons to watch MONSTERS, INC. K-3 families may attend Movie Night for the discounted admission price of $20.00 per family of 4. MONSTERS, INC. A city of monsters with no humans called Monstropolis centers around the city's power company, Monsters, Inc. The lovable, confident, tough, furry blue behemoth-like giant monster named James P. Sullivan (better known as Sulley) and his wisecracking best friend, short, green cyclops monster Mike Wazowski, discover what happens when the real world interacts with theirs in the form of a 2-year-old baby girl dubbed "Boo," who accidentally sneaks into the monster world with Sulley one night. And now it's up to Sulley and Mike to send Boo back in her door before anybody finds out, especially two evil villains such as Sulley's main rival as a scarer, chameleon-like Randall (a monster that Boo is very afraid of), who possesses the ability to change the color of his skin, and Mike and Sulley's boss Mr. Waternoose, the chairman and chief executive officer of Monsters, Inc.. RATED G Students in grades 4-5 are invited to the Middle School lounge to watch THE PRINCESS BRIDE. THE PRINCESS BRIDE A kindly grandfather sits down with his ill grandson and reads him a story. The story is one that has been passed down from father to son for generations. As the grandfather reads the story, the action comes alive. The story is a classic tale of love and adventure as the beautiful Buttercup, engaged to the odious Prince Humperdinck, is kidnapped and held against her will in order to start a war, It is up to Westley (her childhood beau, now returned as the Dread Pirate Roberts) to save her. On the way he meets a thief and his hired helpers, an accomplished swordsman and a huge, super strong giant, both of whom become Westley's companions in his quest. RATED PG Students in grades 6-7 are invited to the Studio to watch THE BLIND SIDE. THE BLIND SIDE Based on the true story of Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy who take in a homeless teenage African-American, Michael "Big Mike" Oher. Michael has no idea who his father is and his mother is a drug addict. Michael has had little formal education and few skills to help him learn. Leigh Anne soon takes charge however, as is her nature, ensuring that the young man has every opportunity to succeed. When he expresses an interest in football, she goes all out to help him, including giving the coach a few ideas on how best to use Michael's skills. They not only provide him with a loving home, but hire a tutor to help him improve his grades to the point where he would qualify for an NCAA Division I athletic scholarship. Michael Oher was the firstround pick of the Baltimore Ravens in the 2009 NFL draft. RATED PG-13 We encourage everybody to attend this special event.
