Metacognition prompt: How did doing this activity help you learn to conjugate AR verbs? Lesson Assessment Teacher Reflection Notes: Student Metacognition Question: Sample questions: • How did this learning strategy help you learn ? • What did you learn? What helped you to learn that? • What strategies did we use in this unit that helped you to better understand and why? • What are three strategies that really help you remember information? • How do you know when you’ve really understood something you’ve read for discussed? Give some examples. Sample Questions: • What went well? Why? • What did not go well? How will I change it? • What did my students gain from this lesson? • How did it impact their thinking, their attitudes or their abilities? What reasons exist for these beliefs? How did I help myself and my students be more metacognitive? • In what ways did the strategies I used enhance student learning? How do I know this? Purpose of metacognition: The teacher asks students about their thinking. How did doing this activity help you learn to conjugate AR verbs? I learned with a partner better. By using the verbs and knocking off the AR. It helped me because we could think together to find the answer. It helped me understand because when I really did not get something they(the partners) were there to help me get it. Working with a partner helped me because it was more interesting to learn and it made me want to learn more so I became smarter. If I didn’t know, my partner did know. I felt this was a very good activity. The students were using the cards they had previously used for verb endings, but now they were physically putting on the correct endings. Working with a partner must have been the best part for them.
