PRESENT TENSE CONJUGATIONS STEM CHANGING VERBS

advertisement
Dear rising Spanish 30/35 students and families,
In order to set you up for a successful year in Spanish 30/35 it is important that you practice the skills you’ve gained this
year during the summer. To that end, the World Languages department has compiled a list of recommended practice
sites that will help you maintain your vocabulary and grammar skills. While not required, we strongly recommend that
students spend at least 10 minutes three times every week practicing Spanish. We are attaching a practice log for
students to record what and when they have practiced. Students who choose to take advantage of this opportunity will
be rewarded, upon turning in a completed practice log during the first days of school, with a 100% score in a high-value
homework grade. Not only will this help students start the semester strong and reward their summer efforts, but their
mastery of the material will show on the first assessments as well.
Students entering Spanish 30/35 should focus first and foremost on all present tense conjugations (including ser vs.
estar vs. tener, gustar, ir, irregular yo, stem-changing verbs, reflexive verbs, and progressives), all preterite tense
(including irregulars, -car/-gar/-zar, basement verbs, i-y), imperfect tense (including the three irregulars ser/ir/ver),
preterite vs. imperfect, as well as the vocabulary from Level 2/20. We have also attached the vocabulary list for the first
unit of Spanish 3/30. This vocabulary list is essentially a list of verbs that students need to know (both meanings and
conjugations) in order to succeed in Spanish 30/35.
We look forward to an exciting and productive year ahead in Spanish!
