A-ROSA AQUA, A-ROSA VIVA, A-ROSA BRAVA & A-ROSA SILVA: Luxurious cruise
ships for culinary and cultural exploration trips
A warm welcome to the Rhine! A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH has been operating on
Germany's biggest river with its first new Rhine ship since August 2009. The A-ROSA
AQUA was launched at the end of July 2009 in Cologne. The sister ship A-ROSA VIVA
has been in operation since its launching ceremony in Basel on 26th March 2010, and
the third ship, the A-ROSA BRAVA was launched in Frankfurt and put into operation on
1st April 2011. A new addition in 2012 was the A-ROSA SILVA: it was launched on 2nd
July in Amsterdam and is cruising on the Rhine/Mosel/Main and on the Danube.
Pure enjoyment on the Rhine! 25 different routes guarantee diversity and variety in
the Rhine/Mosel/Main area, discovering all the facets of Germany, Holland, Belgium,
France and Switzerland. Whether the "Rhine North", "Rhine Christmas Market
South" or the "Rhine Panorama": anyone who wishes to savour the luxury of slow
travel with A-ROSA is spoilt for choice in 2013.
News for beginners. For river newcomers there are the four-night trips "Rhine
Discovery North" with a stop in the colourful city of Amsterdam or the "Rhine &
Mosel Discovery" past the Loreley to Koblenz and Cochem on the Mosel.
The nine-night "Rhine North & Sea" from Cologne promises an intensive experience
of the Markermeer, Ijseelmeer and Wattenmeer, as well as the cities of Rotterdam,
Amsterdam and Ghent. It can be booked on two dates on the A-ROSA BRAVA.
The nine-night trip "Rhine Panorama" from Cologne offers a combination of
northern charm and southern romanticism, featuring Dutch windmills, the beautiful
Loreley passage and the picturesque banks of Alsace. Nine different Christmas market,
Christmas or New Year's Eve trips from Cologne or Frankfurt offer guests glowing lights,
mulled wine, big city shopping and magnificent New Year celebrations. There are 36
different dates available.
All Rhine routes and the routes between Rhine and Danube can be combined.
A-ROSA offers a combination discount of 10% on the SELECT rate.
The northern section of the Rhine offers pulsating cities such as Amsterdam and
Rotterdam as well as a combination of river and sea, with a detour to the Ijsselmeer on
certain routes. Well-known day trip excursions can be undertaken in the harbour town
of Hoorn and the oldest city of the Netherlands, Nijmegen. Amsterdam has art, culture
and metropolitan flair to offer, with canal rides or a visit to the national museum with
its Rembrandt masterpieces.
The southern section is perfect for wine lovers. Guests can look forward to a journey
that will take them through German and French wine-growing regions: starting in
Cologne, the trip heads south through the picturesque vineyards of Alsace, past historic
castles and small towns with French-style flair. The idyll of the Black Forest starts further
2
south, continuing on into the Alpine foothills of Switzerland. The highlights here are
Strasbourg with its blend of modern and historical architecture or Basel, the city with
the greatest density of museums in the world.
In addition to these charming cities, there are also fascinating excursions into the
surrounding area, such as the tradition-steeped spa Baden-Baden.
Get to know the regions and the people who inhabit them. Guests are offered a
wide variety of excursion options in the form of daily visits to cities: in addition to city
tours or walks there is also a steam locomotive ride in Hoorn, a canal ride by night in
Amsterdam and a visit to a music hall show in Strasbourg to choose from, to name a
few examples. The excursions go as far as Den Haag, Brügge, Baden-Baden, Lucerne,
Mainz and Freiburg. Since the A-ROSA ships have their own trekking bikes on board,
fitness fans can also set off on fascinating cycle tours.

Destination area: Danube
Welcome to the queen of rivers: Vienna, Budapest and other Danube cities
The Danube is the only major European river to flow from west to east. Into the
sunrise. Picturesque landscapes glowing in the rays of the morning sun. And on the way
back the natural surroundings radiate in a whole new light. As the trip heads towards
the rising sun, the pulsating, gaily coloured cities of Vienna, Budapest and Bratislava
provide a vibrant contrast. Like the difference between day and night.
An intense experience of river travel with A-ROSA. With 14 routes, departures
from Frankfurt, Passau, Vienna or Bucharest and with four sister ships A-ROSA BELLA,
A-ROSA DONNA, A-ROSA MIA, A-ROSA RIVA and the new A-ROSA SILVA, A-ROSA will
be operating river cruises through ten different countries in 2013 with trips lasting 3, 4,
5, 7, 10, 11, 16 and 17 nights. The 17-night one-way tour "Danube Delta Intensive
from Frankfurt" is the longest of all trips. Guests get to see the Danube Delta covering
a surface area of 5,165 square metres - a natural treasure trove providing a habitat for
rare animal species. Part of this unique landscape in Romania was declared a UNESCO
World Cultural Heritage site in 1991. Other highlights of this trip include crossing the
Black Sea and an outing to "Kilometre 0".
The outing to "KM 0" is also included on the 10-nights one-way route "Danube Delta"
from Passau with return flight Bucharest/Frankfurt, Munich or Dusseldorf and as a 11night trip from Bucharest finishing up in Passau. Feeder flights to and from Frankfurt,
Munich or Dusseldorf can also be booked through the A-ROSA Service Center from EUR
29.- per person.
The 10-night "Danube Cataracts" trip combines cities along the classic route with a
spectacular passage through the cataracts to the Iron Gate and a visit to the Serbian
capital of Belgrade. Stopovers in Vienna with sights such as St. Stephen's Cathedral,
Schönbrunn Palace and the Prater provide delightful variety. Visitors see the former
royal residence in Bratislava and get to know the old city centre travelling on the
historic tram. They witness the beauty of Hungary at a Csikó horse show, a horse-andcarriage tour followed by kettle goulash or a visit to the palace of Elisabeth of Austria the country's largest Baroque palace.
During the spring and from October to December, A-ROSA offers 5 and 6-day trips
which are especially suitable for relaxation, capturing the magic of advent and the
Christmas markets. The highlights here are the 4-night "Danube Christmas" trip and
the 7-night "Danube New Year’s" featuring live music and gala dinner on board.
Along the Danube, too, there are theme trips. The 5-night trip "Danube Wine &
Indulgence" from/to Passau provides the very finest culinary delights to tempt all the
senses. The 7-night trip "Danube Classics" and golf packages which can be booked in
addition offers on two dates some of the best tee-offs in the Fontana Golf Club in
5
Austria, as well in the Pannonia G&C-Club in Hungary and on the Austrian golf course
Lengenfeld. Professional golf support, half-way meals and tournaments are included in
the package price.
A-ROSA cruise ships provide a full-surface sun deck, a pool on the top deck, two
saunas, massage and beauty cabins and a modern fitness area. 48 of the 100 cabins on
the A-ROSA BELLA, A-ROSA DONNA, A-ROSA MIA and A-ROSA RIVA are fitted with
Juliette balconies, connected to the 16 square metre rooms by means of large double
doors. As a special highlight, the A-ROSA SILVA offers four junior suites with Juliette
balcony (21 square metres) and two balcony suites (29 square metres) with Juliette
balcony, balcony and many extras, in addition to the 83 outer cabins (54 of which are
fitted with a Juliette balcony). A putting green, a shuffle board and a large-figure chess
board provide diversion on board. Guests are indulged with culinary delicacies at the
market restaurant with buffetstations and Live cooking stations. There is also a grill
station for barbecues on the sun deck as well as a Day Lounge with selected wines and
specialities from the region. The Café Bar serves drinks during the day, the Lounge Bar

A-ROSA LUNA and A-ROSA STELLA: state-of-the-art cruise ships on the rivers of
France
Live it up with French delights! Alongside the Danube and Rhine, the Rhône/Saône
is the third operating area of the Rostock river cruise company with its sister ships
A-ROSA LUNA and A-ROSA STELLA.
Savoir-vivre for relaxed connoisseurs: Whether culinary delights, culture,
architecture, impressive natural landscapes or romantic palaces - every aspect of France
offers a new dimension. During the summer months, the 7-night trip "Route
Méditerranée" takes guests along the Rhône to Port St. Louis on the Mediterranean
on five different dates. This is the ideal starting point for trips to Monaco or Nice, a visit
to the bustling harbour city of Marseille or a day swimming on the beach on the Côte
d’Azur.
Intensive course in all things French. The 14-night "Route Intensive" can be
booked on two dates in 2013 and combines landscapes, culture and big-city style from
Chalon-sur-Saône via Lyon, Avignon and Arles to Port St. Louis on the Mediterranean.
On various days in March/April and October/November there is also the 5-night "Route
Rendez-Vous" from Lyon to the south along the Rhône through Provence and the
Camargue.
The Lyon outward bus travel by bus arrangement allows guests to organise a
convenient outward trip by bus, in addition to flights or individual travel: the
organised package starts and finishes in Basel or Bern, takes guests straight to the ship
and costs EUR 95.- per person (including snack on board).
On fixed dates, the A-ROSA LUNA also offer gourmet trips or the additional
option of a golf package. On the "Route LUNA" & Golf, the three most attractive
golf courses in the south of France are on the program - Golf Club Lyon, Golf de
Servanes and Golf de Mâcon: including professional organisation and support, half-way
meals, tournaments and discussions of technique. The "Route Gourmet" offers
enticing delicacies: a visit to a nougaterie in Montellimar and Paul Bocuse's top-class
restaurant "L’ Abbaye de Collonges". On board, chefs and master sommelier Hendrik
Thoma conjure up culinary highlights and present exclusive theme workshops.
Experience the full beauty of the south of France with the programme of
excursions: Guests can follow the trail of well-known wines along the Côte d’Or in the
heart of Burgundy, for example. Some of the best wines in the world are made here
from the grape varieties Chardonnay and Pinot, in a romantic setting of idyllic palaces
and herds of French Charolais cattle. The two river boats also offer other culinary
delicacies such as various types of Dijon mustard and epoises, the soft cheese made of
9
cow's milk. Cycling fans can undertake fascinating bike tours through vineyards or ride
along a section of the Saône. Other exciting outings include a jeep tour through the
natural Camargue landscape with its white horses or a visit to a stalactite cave in the
Ardèche. There are also classic excursions to choose from such as a stroll through
Avignon including a visit to the Pope's Palace, a sightseeing tour of Lyon or a visit to the
Cluny monastery in Tournus.
The A-ROSA ships LUNA and STELLA are the most state-of-the-art cruise ships
on the Rhône/Saône, offering space for a maximum of 174 passengers. They each
have 86 outer cabins of approx. 15 square metres each distributed across three decks.
Over two thirds of the cabins have a Juliette balcony. In addition to the market
restaurant, guests can also indulge themselves on both cruise ships in the wine bistro
with outdoor terrace on the top deck, where select wines and regional specialities are
served. The SPA-ROSA offers relaxation between the fascinating shore excursions: it is
an on-board wellness area with massage, sauna, steam bath and rest area, as well as
offering beauty and body treatments. In the fitness area holidaymakers can keep in
shape or else they can relax on the sun deck with outdoor pool, enjoying the beauty of
the landscape of southern France.
Example rates:
5-night "Route Rendez-Vous" from EUR 499.-, 7-night "Route Luna/Stella"
from EUR 1,019.- per person in double outer cabin including FullBoardPlus, also
use of on-board facilities (spa, fitness etc.) and evening entertainment. If
required, outward flight from various German airports with airlines such as
Lufthansa, Air France or SWISS from EUR 299.- per person. If you are arriving by
car, a garage space can be rented at EUR 79.- per week, including transfer to the

The brand A-ROSA: history and development
A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH based in Rostock operates modern river cruise ships on the
Danube, the Rhône/Saône and the Rhine/Main/Mosel, specialising in theme trips for
culture, golf and gourmet delights. With its innovative concept consisting of casual but
stylish feel-good holidays, a richly diverse programme of leisure activities and luxurious
facilities, the ten modern premium ships offer cruises on Europe's most beautiful rivers
in 2013.
A-ROSA was developed from 2000 to 2002 by Seetours, a joint venture of the British
shipping company P&O and DSR, initially launched on the market with two river cruise
ships (A-ROSA BELLA and DONNA) and an ocean cruise ship (A-ROSA BLU). When the
Carnival Group took over the cruise ship business in 2003, the brand A-ROSA was sold
along with the river cruise ships to DSR. The ocean cruise ship has been run under the
AIDA brand since 2004.
DSR developed the A-ROSA brand on an ongoing basis, introducing new tonnage and
new trip regions to establish the foundation for further expansion of the fleet. There
was a management buyout in 2009 and A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH was taken over by the
management together with the financial investor Waterland. The rights to the brand
A-ROSA are held by the company.
