Logo Design Project 3 Commercial Art 1 Now that you have had some experience making logos for your initials and a variety of objects, it is time to create a logo for a client. Your Client- A co-curricular club or sports team. Your Task- To create a logo that identifies, describes, and promotes your client. It should engage the viewer and evoke the spirit, purpose or attitude of your client. Step 1: Choose a client. Step 2: Write down a list of words or sentences (purpose statement) for your client. Step 3: Narrow your focus to a few of the strongest terms from step 2, and begin to brainstorm ideas for these. Step 4: Sketch these ideas. Think about how the words can be visualized, and begin drawing them in your sketchbook. You should have a minimum of 12 sketched ideas. Use The Elements of Logo Design, and The 10 Criteria for Development of a Successful Logo to aid you as you sketch/brainstorm, think creativity and make decisions. Step 5: Choose 5 different sketches to develop to a more finished state on the computer. Show them to Mr. Spoelstra again for approval/suggestions. Step 6: Choose 3 of the 5 that were done on the computer with the aid of other people’s opinions (classmates, teacher, etc.) Step 7: Develop the 3 logos to a completed state, for use in the following situations: Copier- black and white Business card- 2 colors and black Magazine- full color Requirements: -Your logo must include an indication of our schools name: as in Northern Valley Demarest, or NV-Demarest, or NV-D. -Your logo must be successful in black and white as well as in color.
