The FNCPA is seeking applications for the position of Training Coordinator for the Matrimonial
Real Property Training Program (MRPTP). The MRPTP is designed to raise the competency of
Officers and to train Officers, in dealing with the Matrimonial Real Property Law, in dealing
within First Nations in Canada.

Summary of Function:
The Matrimonial Real Property Training Coordinator (MRPTP) is responsible for raising the competency of officers and
training officers, in dealing with the Matrimonial Real Property Law within First Nations in Canada. The MRPTP is also
responsible for establishing and implementing a Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN) training program with the
self-administered standalone First Nation Police Services in Canada related to the Matrimonial Real Property Law,
including:
 Research,
 Training Material, Delivery Method and Pilot Delivery Development Creating and implementing an internal
Intranet website (if required),
 National Deployment, tracking and evaluation of Training Material through CPKN and Promotion of Project at
FNCPA Annual Conference,
 Monitoring, Evaluating and Reporting on Program Delivery and Ensuring Awareness of Changes to MRP Across
the Landscape,
 Functioning as National Contact and Resources Point for the Matrimonial Real Property Self-Administered
Training Program,
 Providing Financial and Non-Financial Reporting,
 Identifying Candidates That Require Training,
 Ensuring Required Materials are Available for Officers; Continuing to Support; Providing training in Both Official
Languages is desirable, and Training Via Web Support and Online Training with CPKN,
 Developing and Delivering Training Materials,
 Additional Program Deliverables.
Qualifications:
Mandatory:





Undergraduate degree with a major in Political Science, Law, Business Administration or Public Administration, or
comparable degree.
Experience providing advice to senior management.
Knowledge of federal, provincial and First Nation governments, structures, and systems.
Knowledge of First Nations cultures and traditions.
Superior interpersonal skills with an ability to build collaborative relationships with communities.

Knowledge of law enforcement with police service administrations, police officers, service providers such
CPKN/RCMP, government representatives (PSC) and FNCPA executive members, and justice and social service
stakeholders.
Extensive knowledge of the policing environment.
Available to work varied hours.
Travel in Canada when required (approximately 4 times per year, for executive meetings/reporting, the Annual
General Meeting and centre of excellence/CPKN, RCMP meetings).
Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Valid Driver’s Licence and a vehicle, or access to a vehicle.
Other:




Minimum of five (5) years related work experience preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of operating computers and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point,
Publisher, etc.
Bilingual in both official languages in both oral and written (French and English) is preferred.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a definite term contract position with an anticipated start date (end of October – as soon as possible), up until
March 31, 2018. The FNCPA will confirm the start and end dates in the employment contract.
SALARY:
Up to 30 hours/week and up to $40.00 per hour.
