common languages spoken are Cantonese, Vietnamese, Tamil,
Urdu, Punjabi, Persian, Spanish, Gujarati, Mandarin and Swahili.
Many of our students or their parents have immigrated to Canada.
This diversity enhances and enriches our school community.
School-wide literacy and
numeracy programs
We ensure a safe and successful
learning environment for all students,
staff and community members.
through promoting our Code of
Conduct and social skills programs.
We attend to issues associated with
ethnoculutral equity and inclusive educational programs that
promote racial tolerance, understanding and harmony.
We are implementing school-wide literacy and numeracy
programs. Our teachers developed school-wide literacy and
numeracy plans. We use assessment data to drive
decision-making and to guide instruction. Science, social studies
and the arts are integrated across the curriculum.

What Sets Us Apart
Sheppard Public School is a medium sized school with an
involved parent community. It is seen as the "community
school", where the majority of students live in the
community. We have performers who come to our school for
special assemblies.
Imagine a school where learning starts the moment your
children walk through the front doors. Imagine a school
where the principal leads by example.
We value your child. We know that when parents choose a
school for their child, they are looking for caring and
supportive staff that honour the values of the family and
provide a strong academic and creative focus.
We provide your children with the individual attention they
deserve and require. Our caring and talented teachers
support your child in developing their creative, social and
academic abilities. Your children will not forget their
teachers.
Our commitment to your child is to ensure a safe, nurturing
learning environment in which each student is valued as an
individual and is encouraged to strive for the highest level of
