Science and Math Exposition ScIPEx Science Investigatory Project Exhibit Miriam College High School Math and Science Week 2010 6 - 10 February 2012 GUIDELINES FOR SCIPEX EXHIBITORS Congratulations for making it to the annual ScIPEx, the Science Investigatory Project Exhibit of the best Science Investigatory Projects of Miriam College High School. To make this event as organized as possible, please follow these guidelines. Note that we are working on a very tight schedule, so please be patient. I. Exhibit Material 1. Since ScIPEx is an outdoor exhibit, only exhibits printed on tarpaulin are allowed to be displayed. There is a lot of tarpaulin printing services along Katipunan Avenue, ranging from 20-25 pesos per square foot. 2. Dimensions of the tarpaulin: 2 ft. x 6 ft. 3. An Adobe™ Photoshop template of the tarpaulin is available for download at http://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B_RfIEBW3dGuNWEwODRiZTItNTBlYy00MDU4LWFj MDEtMWRiMGYwYjg4YWVj&hl=en. You have to type this address as accurate as possible to lead you to the softcopy of the template, and then click on the download button. You need Adobe™ Photoshop to edit the template. 4. If you find typing the web address difficult, try going to www.myclassroomiswired.multiply.com. You will find the same web address under the links section. 5. Your exhibit tarpaulin must be placed on a constructed wooden stand. As soon as you receive this letter, kindly seek help with regard to the construction of the wooden stand. For the dimensions of this stand, please see attachments. 6. The following should be placed in the poster: Abstract, Objectives, Hypothesis, Methodology (in numbered list or pictures), Data (graphs, table, etc), Analysis, Conclusion, Recommendation, References (three major sources). 7. Use white as background color, and black for body text font color. For titles, you may use a different font color. 8. Use Calibri and Arial only as font face. 9. Section headings: justified, not indented, boldface, size 36. Section body text: indented, size 18. justified, 18 is the minimum font size. It should be used in graph labels as well. Peg holes: ask the tarpaulin printer to place 4 peg holes on the poster, one at each corner. Allot a space for these when you design your poster.
