ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
between
PURDUE UNIVERSITY CALUMET
and
IVY TECH STATE COLLEGE-NORTHWEST
for the following programs:
DESIGN TECHNOLOGY, MECHANICAL SPECIALTY (A.S.)
to
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNOLGY (B.S.)
The purpose of this Articulation Agreement is to provide a framework for students at Ivy Tech
State College-Northwest to continue their formal education. These students have indicated that
Purdue University Calumet (PUC) is their selection for continuing their education in order to
complete the requirements of the baccalaureate degree program.
To ensure a smooth transition to the baccalaureate degree program at PUC, the faculty of both
institutions have developed the attached listing of course equivalences approved for transfer
beginning with the Spring Semester 2004/2005. The course listing identifies each course in the
Ivy Tech State College-Northwest Design Technology, Mechanical Specialty Associate of
Science degree program and exactly how each of the transferred courses will be integrated into
the student's academic program at PUC. To ensure consistency and accuracy, representatives
from both institutions must review the documents and update information regarding curriculum
and textbooks periodically. A grade of "C" or above must be earned in a course in order to obtain
credit toward the baccalaureate degree.
Faculty from PUC will evaluate any course taken before Spring 2005 or any course taken at an
institution other than ITSC-Northwest in order to determine the trans ferability of the course work.
Students not completing their Associate of Science degree program at ITSC-Northwest may be
required to repeat some courses at PUC. Either institution upon request may review this
Articulation Agreement, including any modifications. While all parties to this agreement
understand its purpose is to maximize opportunities for individual students, they also recognize
that limits may be placed on courses accepted under provisions of this agreement should the
student subsequently decide to change to another program other than that covered by this
agreement.
