I will also use the chalkboard and chalk to write down sentences that the students come up with using the vocabulary. I will use paper to print out worksheets for the students. Procedure/ Methods Overview My presentation will start with the website. First I will introduce the vocabulary words to the students using the website with words and images pulled from the web. I will define social studies words and explain how certain words relate to Native American culture. I will also, on the website, have sentences with blanks in them and a word bank for students to verbally fill into the blanks. The blanks will be a roll over image with the word on the other side of the blank. Once the vocabulary has been covered and practiced, I will ask students to give examples using words that I will select and then I will write them on the chalkboard. Students will then be given worksheets with pictures on them that represent the vocabulary words and students will be given a word bank and will have to match the words to the pictures. Introduction I will begin the lesson by telling students that vocabulary is very important to learn because it helps to express emotions and thoughts. Also it helps to gain a better understanding of different cultures and helps us understand the world we live in better. Activities Website- Students will first listen to a brief website presentation where I use visuals and explanations to educate them about what the different vocabulary words mean and their importance to cultures and social studies. Then, still using the websites, I will give them a multiplechoice quiz regarding the Native American vocabulary. They will then use their personal white boards to write what they believe the missing words to be and show it to me. I will then roll over the sentences to reveal the correct word. I will also show some videos to explain words.
