Spark Charter School Job Announcement Curriculum Development –Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) Spark Charter School is seeking an innovative team member who has a strong teaching record, coupled with a solid command of content subject matter in science and/or math, and/or history/social studies to join our team of dynamic educators. This individual should have a deep knowledge of the Project-Based Learning model (PBL) and understanding of design thinking. The ideal candidate is highly organized, creative, and has excellent interpersonal skills. Minimum Requirements Multiple subject or single subject credential 5 years teaching experience at various grade levels (K-9) Content area major or minor Experience/training in the Project-Based Learning model Experience/training in inquiry-based learning Knowledgeable in CA Common Core State Standards Deep knowledge of CA Science and/or Math/Hist/SS content standards Works well independently, demonstrates strong initiative, and is punctual with deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills Desirable Requirements Experience writing curriculum Experience coaching/mentoring teachers Experience working in a Professional Learning Community Successful record of differentiating instruction Successful record of working with diverse learners Major Responsibilities and Duties Develop curriculum for content areas Lead teacher teams in curriculum writing for PBL modules Monitor, assess, document progress of PBL modules Demonstrate model PBL lessons Research, investigate, coordinate resources for curriculum development and implementation Provide on-going staff development in curriculum and teaching strategies for PBL Communicate with Staff, Administration, Parent Community Maintain curriculum resources and database Provide training and coordinate parent participation in PBL Supervisor: Reports to Site Administrator Position: Full-time, will consider Part-time Salary: Commensurate with education, credentials, and experience Start Date: July 01, 2015 (or before)
