Overview The Engineering Physics I course is about Mechanics and Mechanical Waves. The material covered in the course is based on the first 21 chapters of the textbook (see below). This course carries the Quantitative Reasoning (QR) flag. Courses carrying the Quantitative Reasoning Flag ask you to interpret quantitative models and apply quantitative reasoning to real-world problems. Course Materials TEXTBOOK: “Physics for Engineers and Scientists” by H. C. Ohanian and J. T. Markert, 3rd Edition, Vol. 1, Publisher: W. W. Norton and Company Content: This course covers Chapters 1-21. CLICKERS: Purchase an ”iClicker” from the UT-Coop or ask around to see if you can purchase a used one. QUEST: This course makes use of the web-based Quest content delivery and homework server system maintained by the College of Natural Sciences. The Quest homework service will require a $ 25 charge per student per class for its use, with no student being charged more than $ 50 a semester. This goes toward the maintenance and operation of the resource. Please go to http://quest.cns.utexas.edu to login to the Quest system for this class.
