Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) - Internal Use Right Mobility (IUR Mobility)
The IUR Mobility right is only for MPN Partners with an Active “Cloud Platform Competency” and lets eligible partners move
certain Internal Use Right (IUR) on-premises licenses that the partner may receive as part of the MPN program to the
Microsoft Azure environment, subject to the terms below. See Universal License Terms, Definitions for meanings of "CALs,"
"manage," "OSEs," "server farm," and "virtual OSEs."

Permitted Use:
With IUR Mobility, you may:
•

•
Move your Internal Use Right licensed software from your servers to Microsoft Azure;
Access your licensed software running on Microsoft Azure under the appropriate access licenses (the CALs and External
Connector licenses identified in the license terms for the individual Products on those licenses as described below, and
the User and Device SLs identified in the license terms for the individual Products);
Run your Internal Use software in Microsoft Azure virtual OSEs; and/or
Manage your IUR Mobility OSEs running in on-premise environments from software that you run on Microsoft Azure.
Use of Internal Use Right Licensed Software with Microsoft Online Services:
Furthermore, solely in support of your joint use of (i) licensed software on Microsoft Azure and (ii) a separately licensed
Internal Use Right Microsoft Online Service, your right to use Internal Use Right software provided with that related
Microsoft Online Service is deemed to extend to Microsoft Azure. Except as expressly provided here, your right to run such
software on Microsoft Azure remains subject to the license terms for the Online Service, and expires upon the earlier of (i)
the expiration of the corresponding Online Service subscription or (ii) your right to use Internal Use Right licensed software
on Microsoft Azure.
Requirements:
To use IUR Mobility, you must:

Have active Cloud Platform Competency status
Maintain your eligibility to use Internal Use Right licenses under which you run software on Microsoft Azure;
Maintain your eligibility to use Internal Use Right for all CALs and External Connector licenses
Maintain your eligibility to use Internal Use Right for all Server Management Licenses under which you manage OSEs
running in Microsoft Azure and under which you run Internal Use Right software on Microsoft Azure to manage OSEs
running on your servers;
Run your Internal Use Right licensed software and manage your OSEs on Microsoft Azure solely for your Internal Use,
Customers Demonstration, Internal Training, Internal Development and testing. As a note, Cloud Platform Competency
partners who have Learning Competency may use IUR Mobility right to deliver customer training.
Your rights to run Internal Use Right licensed software and manage OSEs on Microsoft Azure expire upon the earlier of i)
your MPN Membership or ii) Cloud Platform Competency.
You may move your licensed software from Microsoft Azure back to your servers or to Microsoft Azure, but not on a short
term basis (not within 90 days of the last assignment).
The license terms applicable to the Product together with IUR Mobility right govern its use. The IUR Mobility policy
supersedes any conflicting license terms for a Product when IUR Mobility right is used. Generally, your rights to use the
software on Microsoft Azure are the same as the use rights when you run the software on your servers. However, some
Products, as outlined below, have different use rights on Microsoft Azure under IUR Mobility:
