We will use this date to focus on environmental problems and ways that these problems might be successfully managed. You may select a problem at the local, state, national, or global level. It should be described verbally and illustrated using data tables, graphs and/or illustrations. Your suggested solutions should include effective corrective steps which an individual could take at the local level as well as more global solutions. FORMAT: Each student will produce his or her own poster on a standard piece of 18 x 24 inch poster board. You should include one page each which 1) states the problem, gives necessary background 2) suggests solutions, especially how an individual can act 3) all facts referenced to a bibliography typed on a separate page (Absolutely no more than one typewritten page each, font $12 point). Note that more credit is earned for hand-produced illustrations than printed materials from magazines or the web. A maximum of 50 points will be awarded for each poster based on the criteria listed in the attached grade sheet. Please review these criteria carefully before beginning your poster project. Posters will remain displayed in the hallway during the weeks following Earth Day. DEADLINE FOR POSTING: Your poster is to be posted in order of your class student number in the Snyder building second floor hallway no later than noon on Monday, 19 April 2010. Numbers will be hung from the wire to show you where to post yours. Then, at the beginning of class on the same day, you should submit the poster grading sheet with your name, number, and specific title. If you submit your poster late, 10% will be deducted from your poster evaluation score for each class day after the due date. POINTS EARNED: 1.
