Press Release FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE #GREEN24 movement by AirAsia and AirAsia X in Kuala Lumpur inspire climate action KUALA LUMPUR, 30 JANUARY 2016 – AirAsia and AirAsia X gathered immense public support through its #GREEN24 community event held today at APW Bangsar which included the collection of recyclable items, a marketplace where environmental organisations were gathered to further educate and promote climate action amongst the public, and awareness programs about the effects of climate change. Four categories of recyclable items were collected today including paper, plastic, aluminium and used clothes and all items collected were segregated and delivered to Tzu Chi Foundation’s recycling centre. Tzu Chi Foundation is one of the participating partners of the #GREEN24 community event. Power Shift Malaysia, a climate movement group also shared about the harsh reality of climate change with the public and shared ways on how Malaysians can take proactive steps to reverse it. Popular YouTubers Jinnyboy and Reuben from JinnyBoyTV livened up the occasion as celebrity hosts for the day, along with performances by Joe Flizzow, SonaOne and Noh Salleh. Actress Neelofa also made a special appearance to support the #GREEN24 movement. A series of activities have been planned as part of this campaign, including a group-wide awareness movement across the AirAsia Group and all its global offices from 29 to 30 January to conserve energy, raise awareness on climate change and work towards developing a sustainability-aware culture within AirAsia and the industry.
