DOUBLE ACTION JARS QUALITY DOUBLE ACTION DRILLING JARS SALES, RENTAL AND SERVICES SALES & RENTAL UNIQUE IN RUSSIA Wagenborg Oilfield Services offers PD double acting drilling jars rentals and sales. These jars are proven to be one of the leading jars worldwide. PD jars can be used both as a single shock tool in the string and in assembly with the PD energizer and bumper sub. This type of jar does not have a silicone section which allows to use it much longer during operation. We can guarantees jar operation for 350 circulation hours and 350 drilling hours in standard temperatures. The jar does not have any chromated or polished surfaces which makes it exceptionally damage resistant. Wagenborg Oilfield Services is the only company in Russia which can offer a double acting drilling jar with OD 4 1/8” (105mm). This size is optimal for jobs in 5 3⁄4” (146mm) casing, because such jars are fishable in this size of casing. Jarring Up To jar up apply overpull at the jar as required and wait for jar to fire, lock will automatically release when lock setting load is exceeded. The more overpull applied on the jar, the greater impact will be achieved. To repeat jarring, reset jar into locked position by applying weight on the jar which then automatically will return to it’s locked position and again be ready to be fired up or down as required. Jar lock load will have to be exceeded for the lock to release and hydraulics to be engaged. Overpull in excess of Max Pre-Jarring should not be applied as it may damage the hydraulics of the jar. Jarring Down To jar down, apply weight on the jar as required and wait for jar to fire, the lock will automatically release when lock setting load is exceeded. The more weight applied on the jar, the greater impact will be achieved. To repeat to jarring, reset jar into locked position by applying overpull at the jar which then automatically will return to it’s locked position and again be ready to be fired up or down as required. Jar lock load will have to be exceeded for lock to release and hydraulics to be engaged. Energizer Up and Down Operation The energizer will automatically be applied when opening the jar so fully concentrate on the loads applied on the jar and the energizer will adjust as required. The energizer will, when operated with the ‘PD’ Jar, increase acceleration of hammer weight between jar and energizer and thereby increase impacts. The impacts will also due to the two-stage design increase impacts in horizontal wells. This double action energizer will also minimize jarring shock loads on working string and topside equipment. PUMP FORCE TABLE Pump pressure will generate a force, which will try to open the tool and thereby increase ease of opening jar lock and increase impact. For calculation please refer to Pump Force table. In horizontal wells the energizer will, due to the Pump Open Force and spring force, also assist in moving the BHA to maintain weight on bit. DOUBLE ACTION JARS QUALITY DOUBLE ACTION DRILLING JARS SALES, RENTAL AND SERVICES SALES & RENTAL UNIQUE IN RUSSIA The ‘PD’ Jar can be placed in the bottom hole assembly either in tension or compression but it is recommended that the jar is placed as close to any possible stuck point in order to achieve the highest impact where it counts. Ensure that sufficient weight (hammer weight) is placed above the jar for high impact. The energizer should be placed above the jar hammer weight and with sufficient weight above the energizer in order to ensure high down jar impact. Never place jar or energizer at the neutral point in string as it may cause excessive wear and/or damage to the tools. Never place tools at a transition point (i.e.between 8” (203mm) O.D. and 6 ½” (165mm) O.D. collars). Never place jar next to or below a stabilizer, roller reamer or similar tool. Drill collars and/or pipe connection O.D. above the jar and immediate (1-2 joints) below the jar should never be larger than the O.D. of the jar. For dual jar and energizer placement it is recommended that all notes on placement are considered and that the second jar should be placed higher up in the string again with sufficient hammer weight to fire up or down as required. Beware that if weight below the jar is greater than lock setting of the jar, the lock may release to activate jar hydraulics when string is picked up. Jar can be delivered in open position with a clamp to eliminate this problem. The ‘PD’ Drilling Jar and Drilling Energizer are a new generation of drilling tools designed and manufactured for the severe drilling conditions of today, such as severe directional and horizontal drilling conditions. Ensuring secure and durable operation and providing high impact as and when required, regardless if in vertical, high angle or the horizontal section of the well. The ‘PD’ tools feature high strength steel, no chrome exposure either internal or external to drilling fluids or bore hole. Low internal friction due to design and use of low friction sealing arrangement. Large internal diameter for high volume fluid passage has been achieved without sacrificing tool strength. High impacts even under low loads which can be increased considerably with the use of the two stage mechanical ‘PD’ Energizer. Also the Energizer will absorb shock waves to surface and thereby limit damage to surface equipment. High pressure hydraulic oil pump is activated by reliable and proven Caterpillar diesel engine. All the fluids in the machine are specially selected for use in cold northern conditions. Together with power swivels we provide engineering support. Power swivel operator-mechanic is responsible for uninterrupted operation of the units and for availability of diesel fuel for the pump drive. INNOVATIVE ADVANCED SOLUTION WEDGECUT® CASING EXIT SYSTEM QUALITY The WedgeCut® Whipstock System is one of the advanced solutions of Wagenborg Oilfield Services. The system consists of: • Whip face with a setting anchor • One mill for casing exit cutting and gauging The innovative part of the system is the anchor setting mechanism and the shape of the mill. The anchor is set mechanically by shearing a slip set pin. When the load is applied to the whip face the set pin is sheared, a spring releases and pushes the slip up, the slip is wedged between the whipstock and casing. However the setting system is designed in such a way that in case of unforeseen circumstances, such as wrong cement plug, bridge plug of whipstock placement interval selection the whipstock can be pulled up and set at a higher interval. The whipstock can also be activated against the bottomhole and then pulled up and set at a higher interval, this being the case no cement bridge or bridge plug is required. The WedgeCut® Whipstock System is one of the advanced solutions of Wagenborg Oilfield Services. When the anchor is set the mill activating pin is sheared. Then casing milling and casing exit cutting begins. The whip face has a special guide block which together with the tapered section of the mill leads the mill’s cutting structure in the right direction to cut the casing exit and prevent its interference with the surface of the whip face. This feature prevents the whip face from damage and allows to use it more than once. Besides the guide block has the shape of an inverted taper and thus can serve as a hook for lifting the whip stock. Which means that the whip stock can be hooked with the head of the mill even after the mill activating pin is sheared and the mill is no longer attached to the whipstock. The mill itself is design to comprise a window mill, secondary and watermelon mill in one tool. Such design significantly lowers the cost for manufacturing or redressing and consequently customer expenses. The WedgeCut® system major characteristics: • One trip casing exit cutting system • Can be placed higher up after setting • Can be oriented at any time • 2 angle • Retrievable • Backup Feature to retrieve if the shear bolt is broken FISHING SERVICES We employ specialists who are fully experienced in all aspects of Workovers and Drilling Operations such as: • Packer milling and retrieving (all types and sizes) • Bridge plugs milling and retrieving • Recover liners • Fishing (open and cased hole) • Recovery of lost and stuck pipe, junk, lost tools • Milling Casing, tubing, junk, cement milling, dressing fish necks, downhole restrictions Equipment list • Bumper SuBs • Die Collars • Ditch Magnets • Drive Subs • Cutters • Fishing Jars • Fishing Magnets • Impression Blocks • Intensifiers • Junk Baskets • Junk Subs • • • • • • • • • Mills (all types) Overshots Releasing Spears Reverse Circulating Junk Basket Rotary Shoes Rope Spear Safety Joints Taper Taps Washpipe HIGH QHSE STANDARDS ACCURATE STABILIZER REDRESS MODERN EQUIPMENT Whenever the Stabilizer has worn down to an unacceptable diameter, it can be reconditioned to full gauge by the Wagenborg Oilfield Services Stabilizer Redress Shop. In many cases traditional solutions, readily available from industry service companies, are the answer. Then there are those conditions that require specialized expertise and equipment to keep your well alive. With a global footprint and years of experience in pipe recovery, we can now provide the industry with the latest Radial Cutting Torch, or RCT™ tool system services. These enabling tools and associated services address the pipe recovery needs of major oil and gas producers, coiled tubing operators, and fishing service companies as no others on the market. RCT tool systems are certified radio safe and non-explosive. They are not classified as explosives or traditional hazardous materials and require no special storage or handling. Finally, a user-safe alternative to conventional cutting methods! Cutting NPT, costs and safety concerns We continuously strive to deliver value to our clients through research and development and offering a range of modern products. RCT systems are one of the solutions we employ to deliver value to your investment. Global Transportation classification allows transport of the RCT systems on public carriers, saving costs associated with the specialized trucking and cargo requirements of chemical and explosive-type cutters. For the client, this advantage translates to reduced non-productive time. Benefits • RCT systems are all non-explosive • RCT systems are available as hazmat or non-hazmat rated* • RCT systems operate in temperatures to 500˚ F (260˚ C) • RCT systems operate in pressures to 20,000 psi (137.9 Mpa) • RCT systems uses no explosives, detonators or igniters • RCT systems require no special offshore transportation • RCT systems require no special container systems • RCT systems are certified radio safe • RCT systems utilize MCR’s non-explosive, non-hazmat THERMAL GENERATOR™ activator • RCT tool cuts will not flare or swell the target pipe • No complicated fish job We understand the importance of personnel liability to operators. That’s reason enough to make the RCT system your first choice for cutting pipe. Cutting the pipe The versatility of RCT systems makes them a logical choice for any tubular cutting need. Whatever the cutting conditions— high bottom hole pressures, restricted tubular access, or even the most routine, we have the RCT system to get the job done. RCT tools are designed specifically to cut standard and heavywall tubular, including conventional grades, stainless, highchrome and exotic alloys, quickly, leaving a clean fish up hole. RCT systems are available from 3/4- to 7-in. diameters for cutting tubular sizes from 1 to 9-7/8 in. ADVANTAGES OF THE RCT OVER JET & CHEMICAL CUTTERS • Not an explosive or dangerous chemical • Classified as a Flammable Solid, Organic, NOS., UN1325 Class 4.1* • No special storage, handling, or disposal problems • Operates in temperatures to 500˚ F (260˚ C) • Operates in pressures to 20,000 psi (137.9 Mpa) • Many Deployment options available to meet client requirements • Cuts all steel, high chrome, heavy wall and plastic coated tubulars • Cuts produce no flaring or swelling of the target pipe • Can be run thru restrictions to cut larger diameter pipe • Can be used in close contact pipe conditions • Cuts in dry pipe conditions, exotic fluids or drilling mud • Pressure Balance Anchor system eliminates movement, slipping, or sticking problems associated with other anchors • Pressure Balance Anchor also eliminates the problems associated with going thru restrictions and operating in larger diameters below the restriction, because it has no moving parts • The complete system is safe to use in Radio Sensitive areas such as offshore platforms or drill ships without going into Radio Silence resulting in significant savings in rig time RCT systems can be conveyed using wireline, slick line, coiled tubing or drill string. The included anchor system holds the tool in place during activation and cutting, ensuring a clean and complete cut. The slim design of the tool lets you cut in close-contact conditions, highly deviated wells and scaled pipe. RCT tools are proven to operate with greater standoff. With their small diameters, the tools can pass through, and cut below, tubular restrictions as no other cutter can on the market. RCT system operation begins when an electrical current passes through the conveyance medium to a contact sub. The contact sub provides current to the THERMAL GENERATOR™ activator which heats a resistor to a temperature that causes the initial burn that activates the primary fuel load. Highly energized plasma is produced, exits thru the nozzle ports and severs the target pipe in drilling, completion and production scenarios, within wellbore temperatures up to 500° F and pressures up to 20,000 PSI. The torch system is retrievable and has no special disposal requirements. *RCT-SP is non-hazmat rated systems currently available. MCR® and MCR Oil Tools® are registered trade names of MCR Oil Tools, LLC Case study: A job required the cutting of 1 1/4-in high-pressure coiled tubing stuck in 2 3/8-in., 5.95-lb/ft tubing. Bottom hole temperature was 345 F, and bottom hole pressure was 11,800 PSI. After four days of failed attempts with conventional cutters, the client called for assistance. The 7/8-in. HP RCT tool was selected and successfully cut the pipe in the first run. The RCT system provides access through those tubular restrictions that conventional chemical cutters and severing tools cannot.
