He also taught theology and philosophy during the 90s at Satya Wacana Christian University on the island of Java in Indonesia as a missionary for the ELCA Global Mission. He was Visiting Professor of Religion at Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota from 2001 – 2007. From 2007 to 2010 he was Assistant Professor of World Religions and Christian Mission at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. He is currently retired.
