LAS VEGAS (November 13, 2006) – The jewel of downtown, the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino

In 2005, the Golden Nugget embarked upon a $100 million renovation project, which has transformed the
property, in its 60th year, to diamond proportions. Under the direction of Landry's Restaurants, Inc., one
of the nation's largest casual dining, hospitality and entertainment companies, the first phase of the
renovation project was completed this fall, just one year after Landry’s completed its purchase of the
Golden Nugget and the Golden Nugget Laughlin in September 2005.
Diamond accommodations
Overlooking the Golden Nugget pool terrace, beautiful vistas of the Spring Mountains and the lights of
the Las Vegas valley are three towers of first-class guest rooms and suites. In the tradition of quality
found throughout the Golden Nugget, the rooms provide guests with the most comfortable and elegant
accommodations possible. Each of the Golden Nugget’s 1,907 rooms has Internet and wireless Internet
access.
Deluxe guest rooms feature warm and sophisticated decor, which create a relaxing and refreshing

Tastes of the Golden Nugget
Synonymous with quality, the Golden Nugget offers many delicious dining options in downtown Las
Vegas. Diners can choose from a wide variety of food and wine, flavored by the intimate atmosphere and
exquisite quality for which this legendary property is known. With selections for every taste and budget,
the Golden Nugget lives up to its standard of uniting elegance and comfort with excellent food.
As part of a wide-scale renovation of the Golden Nugget, several new restaurants have been introduced to
the downtown property. The first of which is Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse, which opened December
2005. Like the original restaurant in Houston, Texas, Vic & Anthony’s features a blend of high-quality
menu selections and one-of-a-kind hospitality in an intimate atmosphere of handcrafted mahogany
woodwork, plush leather furnishings and luxurious amenities.
Lillie's Noodle House, which opened for dinner in February 2006, and is unique to the Golden Nugget,
boasts an innovative menu featuring cuisine from regions throughout Asia, and fuses the sumptuous
flavors of traditional Cantonese and Szechwan with Pan-Asian flair in a contemporary, yet casual
ambience.
Open for lunch and dinner is Grotto Italian Ristorante, which opened October 2006. This trattoria-style
restaurant serves the best in “Old-World” signature dishes. The Golden Nugget location is the first to
open outside of Texas, and is the second Landry’s concept to open at the property. The menu includes
authentic Italian cuisine made with recipes using only the best and freshest seasonal ingredients, each
meal complemented by an extensive wine list.
In the Las Vegas tradition of "all-you-can-eat" buffets, The Buffet at the Golden Nugget offers a wide
variety of entrees for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The all-new, non-smoking buffet features increased
dining space and an updated array of food selections, featuring international cuisine at live-action cooking
stations. Specials, such as the “Seafood & More” buffet and Sunday’s champagne brunch, make The
Buffet at the Golden Nugget one of downtown’s best bets.
Carson Street Café, which has undergone a makeover, as well, offers 24-hour dining in a warm setting,
complete with lush browns and burgundy accents. Breakfast, lunch and dinner options – ranging from
traditional American classics to Hawaiian specialties and a variety of other cuisine – complete with
breathtaking views of The Tank, the pool at the Golden Nugget, make Carson Street Café a delightful

Raise your spirits
RUSH Lounge is the newest incarnation of the “ultra-lounge.” RUSH is a cozy setting, ideal for afterwork gatherings or romantic drinks for two. Ambient music, signature cocktails and VIP bottle and table
service complement the warm, intimate atmosphere accented with gold and brown tones.
Dive into fun
Aquatic adventurers will be able to plunge into the Golden Nugget’s newest attraction, The Tank, a $20
million, one-of-a-kind pool, complete with and aquarium and three-story waterslide. Thrill in the
excitement of swimming inches away from sharks and stingrays, or relax at one of the well-appointed
cabanas. After spending a day in the sun, Dive Bar at The Tank, an all-new poolside bar, will wet your

Rejuvenate in the newly-renovated Spa at the Golden Nugget, the first spa, salon and fitness center in its
class in downtown Las Vegas. The Spa at the Golden Nugget, provides exceptional, personalized service
in an elegant setting, and features private facilities for men and women, providing 10 treatment rooms,
fully appointed lounges, herbal steam rooms and saunas. A manicure and pedicure room, complete salon

High-energy casino action
The vibe and energy of the Golden Nugget’s casino stands apart from all others in Las Vegas. A totally
remodeled gaming floor allows easier access to players’ favorite table, slot and video poker games. The
45,000 sq. ft. casino offers more than 1,100 of the most popular slot and video poker machines, with each
implementing the Ticket-In/Ticket-Out technology, which uses tickets rather than coins. Live table
games, including blackjack, roulette and craps, provides players with some of the hottest casino action in

Luxury has “no limit” in the new poker room, which is accented by warm, wood features, all-new poker

The “Hand of Faith,” the largest known gold nugget on display in the world today, can be found at the
Golden Nugget. Discovered in 1980 near the Golden Triangle in Australia, the gold nugget weighs 61
pounds, 11 ounces, and is worth more than $425,000. On display at the resort since 1981, the “Hand of
Faith” currently resides near the North Tower Lobby. A new display area was designed and installed in
2004 to better present the “Hand of Faith,” and it remains a popular photo spot for visitors.

Nugget recently opened two new boutiques and a pair of sundries shops.
Perfect Timing, a high-end watch shop, offers upscale brands such as Oris, Longines, Maurice Lacroix

those akin to the luxuries of life are a line of Mont Blanc products: cufflinks, pens and watches.
Style and Trend, located across from the Carson Street Cafe, features high-end men and women’s apparel

Essentials, two 24-hour gift shops, conveniently located in the North and South Tower lobbies, features
