In 1998 when the Internet Gateway was established by the United Nations
Development Fund and Gamtel in The Gambia, QuantumNET was chosen as the
first private ISP. QuantumNET offers the following Internet Services:

Not content with its brand being known as The Gambia’s leaders in IT,
QuantumNET recently acquired Digital Planet who are the authorised dealers for
Samsung and Sony products and appliances in The Gambia.
The QuantumNET Digital Superstore located on the busy Kairaba Avenue is well
stocked with a wide variety of televisions, appliances, mobiles, computers and
many other brand name items.
QuantumNET Digital is the Gambia’s only official Nokia Distributor and is also
home to The Gambia’s only official Nokia Service Center where Nokia trained
technicians provide support for the Nokia phones on sale.
GSM Sales
QuantumNET is an Authorised Distributor & Sales Agent for SIM Cards and Scratch
Cards in The Gambia
QuantumNET's GSM Product Sales department provides an outlet for all types of
GSM related products mobile phone Scratch Cards.
QuantumNET has over 10,000 sub-agents where people can purchase credit to refill
mobile phones.
In 2005 the company purchase plots of land across the country where we placed
small booths for selling scratch and SIM cards. This also helped to create
employment for numerous young people.

QuantumNET places a heavy responsibility in exceeding our customers
expectations. In order to provide the highest level of customer service, we have
created a department that is able to provide round the clock Marketing & support
to all of our customers.

The above is the proposed general framework of agreement between the
three partners. Both QuantumNET I Institute of Technology and The University
of The Gambia have agreed on the framework.
QuantumNET Institute of Technology (QIT)
Whilst the new building for the QuantumNET Institute of Technology is under
construction, the QIT will move from QuantumNET’s Head Office to our new rented
facility as shown below
With the demand for the courses offered by QuantumNET outstripping the space in
the current Training Center (there is a 2-3 month waiting list for courses),
management decided to occupy much larger premises nearby.
