Faust: (surprised) Uh no, not at all Miss.
Calypso: What a beauty isn’t it?
Faust: Yes, quite an eye catcher.
Calypso: Name’s Calypso (reaches out her hand).
Faust: (Looks at her hand hesitantly. Finally decides to shake
her hand) I’m Faust.
Calypso: Quite a name there, Faust (Chuckles and looks at the
water).
Faust: Yours is interesting also, Calypso.

Calypso: So, what brings you to the boating docks? I ain’t seen
you ‘round here before.
Faust: Well, I just made a terrible decision I believe. Just thought
this would be a nice place to clear my head.
Calypso: Oh, I see. ‘Tis a nice thinking place, that’s why I live
here.
Faust: (Looking surprised) you live here?
Calypso: Why yes. (Pointing) Right there in that little shack.
Faust: Very interesting.
Calypso: Yep, I’m very ill so I can’t work to move into anything
nicer, but it ain’t too bad.
Faust: (Very sympathetic) I’m sorry to hear that, where’s your
family and friends?
Calypso: (still looking at the water) don’t have any. Been by
myself for years.
Faust: I see, don’t feel down. I’m old and alone myself.
Calypso: (Gives Faust a little punch on the shoulder) Aha! We
can be old and alone together! What do ya say?
Faust: Alright then, friend. (With a smile)

Scene 3
Setting: Hospital room (months later)
(Faust walks in to see Calypso with a bouquet of flowers.)
Faust: How are you my dear?
Calypso: (Sickly voice) Oh I’ll be okay Fausty-poo, I’ll be with
God any day now and when you pass, we’ll be reunited.
Faust: (with tears in his eyes and a quivering voice) Oh Calypso,
there’s something I must tell you.
Calypso: What is it?
Faust: Remember a few months back, when we first met?
Calypso: Of course.
Faust: And remember I told you I had made a terrible decision?
Well... I don’t know how to tell you this, I’m ashamed in myself.
Calypso: (places his hand in hers) you can tell me, I won’t judge
you by your mistakes. I have a few myself.
Faust: Earlier that day, I ran into someone, his name is
Mephistopheles. He’s the devil. He made a deal with me, that if I
gave my soul to him he would give me magical powers and I
could do anything, even the impossible. He told me I wouldn’t be
alone if I did this. (Looks up at Calypso, sobbing)
Calypso: (raspy voice, gently rubbing his face) interesting, very
interesting. That is quite alright Faust, my dear. The past is the
past.
Faust: but that means we can’t be reunited in Heaven, I’m
damned to Hell for eternity. Wait!! (Stands up and takes a deep
breath, he places both hands on Calypso’s forehead and starts
chanting under his breath)
(BOOOMM!)
(The devil appears out of nowhere in rage.)
Mephistopheles: What do you think you’re doing?!
(Calypso and Faust are surprised)
Faust: Using my magic powers to heal the one I love.
Mephistopheles: You weren’t supposed to use your powers for
good! You were supposed to use them for evil!
Faust: No! I’m not like you; I shouldn’t have signed away my
soul! Calypso is my heart, I love her and I have already taken her
sickness away. It’s too late Mephistopheles.
Mephistopheles: How dare you talk to me like that?!
(Big voice from the background, it is God)
God: Mephistopheles!
(Everyone is shaken, there is a dead silence.)
Mephistopheles: God?
God: It’s been a long time. How dare you try and punish Faust
for using your powers that you gave him for good? You will be
trapped in a cage in Hell forever. It’s your time to suffer,
Mephistopheles. (Mephistopheles disappears)
Faust: Thank you God, Thank you!
God: I was wondering when you would use your powers for
good, I knew you wouldn’t use them for evil. I grant you and
Calypso 100 more years of life full of wealth and healthiness.
Then both of you will join me in Heaven.
(Faust and Calypso hug each other)
