Take that cocktail upstairs into the theatre, check out the cool visuals on screen and welcome international sensation DJ Logic back to the Hall. He’ll be on stage where you’ll be dancing all night! Event tickets will go quickly. Don’t miss out – get your ticket today!” Mary Horigan, Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving added, “When you purchase your Event tickets, pre-register at the Box Office for the Silent Auction – you’ll be entered into a Celebrity Raffle to win two tickets to the Brandi Carlile concert January 31, 2009 at The Music Hall and a meet & greet with Brandi!” Mary continues, “We’re thrilled with the Silent Auction items we’ve secured. They include two tickets to the sold out Writers on a New England Stage: Stephen King and a highly coveted signed copy of his newest book. We’ve already taken temporary possession of a Vespa LX 50 which is now in our lobby. Other donations include an evening on the town chauffeured by Regal Limousine, a wine tasting on a private boat, and a getaway weekend at a vacation home on the coast of Maine.” Joining DJLogic on stage will be cabaret dancers from Iron Heart Circus, a cabaret dance troupe that will be entertaining the revelers. For more information about Iron Heart Circus, visit www.ironheartcircus.com DJLogic’s plan for the evening? “Playing my own music/my own production, as well as house, electronic dance, a little bit of hip hop and some jazz. I like to be very eclectic with my set – put everyone in the right groove.” About The Event The theme for this year’s Event is Skin: Be comfortable in yours. According to Mary Horigan, “Skin is in this year - look at all the fashion magazines- whether it is python, leopard or your own, our theme allows you to have fun with your wardrobe. So think Zebra pants, snake skin tops or your favorite jeans! Anything goes!” So what is The Event Experience? Again, Jen, “People who attend this event experience a lot of vibrant energy, movement, outrageous clothing, and urban infusion! I think it’s a bit of an eye opener for a lot of people because they don’t realize they can get this caliber of DJ and dance floor in Portsmouth…The Event is quite possibly the only party of the whole year that is able to provide that. And, The Event is such an excellent fundraiser and something people in the community look forward to all year. The money we receive from this party goes to running and refurbishing this beautiful hall. All the food for the party is donated by local restaurants, and this is a chance for them to receive some excellent visibility in the community. Overall, a great night!” About DJ Logic The theorem of turntablist as musician has been long proven in the capable hands of DJ Logic, whom with jazz as his foundation has become a wax innovator by crossing genres and sprinkling his sound across the map. As one of the world's most accomplished turntablists, DJ Logic is widely credited for introducing jazz into the hip - hop realms and is considered by most as a highly respected session musician and an innovative bandleader.
