This scholarship is being established by Alumnus Rene Roberts, a graduate from Highlands
High School, San Antonio ISD.
This scholarship is set up to recognize current SAISD seniors wishing to advance their education
or training in a career worthy of themselves and family.
An annual fundraising event during the Dia de los Muertos Celebration has been established to
fund this scholarship. This year the Foundation will be awarding 2 scholarships valued at
$500.00 each.
This scholarship is NOT limited to race, ethnicity, cultural or religious beliefs.
The following scholarships requirements are:
1. Write an estimate 200-500 word essay on : How you (the senior) DESCRIBE, SEE,
UNDERSTAND the purpose of Dia de los Muertos. Include any beliefs or experiences
you have had with the celebration of this day.
2. Deadline for postmarked submission is April 1, 2014.
3. MAIL your completed application to:
