Franklin County Community Foundation Endowment Descriptions
Administrative
David & Marjorie Barrett Family Operations Endowment – Established in 2003 to provide
support for the operations of the Franklin County Community Foundation.
Mabel and Maurice Brackney Operations Endowment – Established in 1999, by Karen and
Tom Niedenthal in honor of Karen’s parents. This fund will provide support to the operations of
the Franklin County Community Foundation.
Fred and Margaret Chappelow Operations Endowment – Established 1999 by Fred and
Margaret Chappelow to fund operating expenses of the Franklin County Community Foundation.
Cultivating Donor Development Endowment – Established in 2012 anonymously to support
the operations of the Franklin County Community Foundation in the creation and cultivation of
donor development.
FCCF Board of Directors Operations Endowment – Established 2010 anonymously to honor
past and current FCCF Board Members and to fund operating expenses of the Franklin County
Community Foundation.
FCCF Operating Endowment – Supports the operations and continued excellence of the
Franklin County Community Foundation.
Mullin Cooney Family Endowment – Established in 2009 by Marty Mullin and Tom Cooney to
provide support for the operations of the Franklin County Community Foundation.
Arts
Franklin County Public Library District Art Endowment – Established in 2002 by Mary
Lucille Fritz and Dennis Fritz in honor of their mother, Hazel Fritz, a teacher. The endowment
will fund the purchase, display, maintenance and restoration of artwork with a preference for
Franklin County and Indiana artists in the libraries of the Franklin County Public Library District.
Community Organizations
American Legion Veterans Memorial Endowment – Established in 2002 by Dennis and Adele
Fritz in memory of Boyd Fritz. This fund will enable the Brookville American Legion to honor
veterans.
Franklin County Antique Farm Machinery Club Museum Endowment – Established in 2002
by Donald and Marilyn Wendel, this fund will provide a mechanism for improving the
educational capacities of the Franklin County Farm Machinery Museum. This fund is to be used
by the Directors of the Franklin County Antique Machinery Club to purchase materials (i.e. tools,
equipment, literature, etc) pertaining to the farm and home life of the first half of the 20th century.
Acquisition of materials, hiring speakers and otherwise supporting programming that would aid
public instruction in the use, maintenance and repair of items in the museum is also permitted.
Franklin County 4-H Association Endowment – Created in 2002 by Dennis Fritz in honor of
his uncle, Ray Franzman, this endowment directly funds 4-H activities in our county through the
4-H Association.
Franklin County Humane Society Endowment – Established in 2002 by the Humane Society,
this fund was created to support the work of the Franklin County Humane Society, a non-profit,
no-kill organization comprised of volunteer members dedicated to the protection and welfare of
all animals.

United Way of Franklin County Endowment – Established in 1999 by the United Way of
Franklin County to provide support to the United Way using income for operating expenses to
carry out its role and mission as described by its governing documents.
Community Enhancement
4-H Mustanger’s Horse & Pony Club Endowment – Established in 2015 by Mick and Jenny
Wilz to provide support to the 4-H Mustanger’s Horse and Pony Club.
John and Joyce Back Speech and Hearing Disability Endowment – Established in 2007 by
John and Joyce Back to provide assistance to individuals with a speech or hearing disability.
Bath State Bank Unrestricted Endowment Fund for Community Grant making Established in 2002 by the Bath State Bank Board of Directors, this unrestricted endowment will
provide grants to community non-profit projects.
Bethlehem and Harmony Cemetery Preservation Endowment – Established in 2002 by
Myron Vanness in memory of Jeannie Vanness to provide funding for the maintenance of
Bethlehem and Harmony Cemeteries.
Eric J. Biehl Memorial Endowment – Established in 2012 by Mike and Dianne Biehl in
memory of Eric. Primary consideration for funding will be to provide assistance to residents of
Franklin County who have a substance abuse problem and are seeking rehabilitation. Secondary
consideration will be given to funding substance abuse educational programs that are offered to
elementary school children in Franklin County.
Big Cedar Cemetery Endowment – Established in 2015 by the Big Cedar Cemetery Association
to provide support to the Big Cedar Cemetery.
Brookville Elementary Library Endowment – Established in 2010 by Joan and Ray Lohrey to
provide funding for new library books for the Brookville Elementary School Library.
Brookville Foundation Endowment for Community Grantmaking – Established in 2014 by
the Brookville Foundation to provide funding to applicants for community grants through
the FCCF’s grants program.
Colton Jacob Brewer Memorial Endowment – Established in 2008 by Jonna and Robert
Brewer in memory of Colton Brewer. Primary purpose is to provide assistance to families that
have a mentally or physically handicapped individual residing with them. Secondary purpose is
to benefit the Special Education program at Brookville Elementary School.
Canoe Festival Club Endowment – Established in 2008 by the Canoe Festival Club to provide
funding for programs and improvements at the Brookville Town Park.
Lois E. Clark Brookville/Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Endowment – Established
in 2009 by Dr. Randall W. Listerman in honor of Lois Clark. Primary purpose is to provide
support for the Brookville/Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.
Robert & Ethel Crawford Unrestricted, Donor-Advised Memorial Endowment – Established
in 2000 by Bryce Q. and Eunice E. Dare to honor Eunice’s parents. Provides funding for nonprofit projects and organizations in Franklin County.

Drewersburg Cemetery Preservation Endowment – Established in 1999 by Mildred H.
McMillin to provide annual funds to benefit the Drewersburg, Indiana, Baptist Cemetery
Association.
Captain Charles N. Fox USAF Memorial Endowment – Established in 2002 by Phyllis Fox to
provide funding for non-profit organizations and projects in Franklin County.
Danny Fox Memorial Endowment – Established in 2002 by Phyllis Fox to provide funding for
programs and improvements at Heap Memorial Swimming Pool or the Brookville Town Park.
FCCF General Community Grants Endowment – Provides funding for Franklin County
community projects.
Franklin County Home & Garden Show Endowment – Established in 2010 by the Franklin
County Home & Garden Show. Provides funding for charitable programs or activities intending
to make improvements to Franklin County.
Hero Park Gazebo Endowment – Established in 2012 by Dr. Randall W. Listerman to provide
support for maintenance of the Hero Park Gazebo located on the Franklin County Courthouse
lawn in Brookville, Indiana.
Carl and Marjorie Hinesley Memorial Athletic Endowment – Established in 2005 by Dr. Carl
Phillip Hinesley, Rex Hinesley & Karen Hinesley Wakley to provide ancillary support to the
women’s athletic programs and men’s baseball program at Franklin County High School.
Aloys “Butch” & Cathy Knecht Youth Group Endowment – Established in 2015 by Butch
and Cathy Knecht to provide support for costs related to field trips, retreats, programs or activities
for the youth group and youth ministry programs at St. Peter’s Catholic Church and St. Michael’s
Catholic Church.
MainSource Bank Fund for Community Grant making – Established in 2003 by MainSource
Bank to support Franklin County non-profit projects and/or organizations.
Lorraine & Frank Misasi Children’s Medical Fund Endowment – Established in 2008 by
Lorraine Misasi. Primary purpose is to provide assistance to residents in Franklin County under
the age of 18 years for one-time medical related expenses.
Robert & Joan Nau Family Endowment – Established in 2012 by Robert and Joan Nau to
provide assistance to citizens of Franklin County. Grants from the endowment will be directed to
St. Michael Parish. St. Michael will then distribute the funds. Primary Consideration will be
given to citizens in need of assistance who are blind or near blind. Secondary Consideration will
be given to any citizen in need of assistance.
Old Franklin Church Endowment – Established in 2015 to provide general support to the Old
Franklin Church.
Old Franklin Church Cemetery Endowment – Established in 2015 to provide support to the
Old Franklin Church Cemetery.
Dr. and Mrs. Elmer Peters Endowment – Established in 2003 by Eleanor Peters to honor Mrs.
Peters’ 80th birthday. The fund benefits St. Michael School and the Franklin County historical
Society’s Old Brick Church equally.

Oldenburg Town Fund in honor of Stan and Helen Enneking – Established anonymously in
2007 to benefit the Town of Oldenburg, Indiana, and its residents by providing financial support.
Primary focus should include youth related projects, projects related to the Town Park, and
beautification of the town.
Otto Family Endowment – Established in 2006 by Eleanor Otto in memory of Merle “Bud”
Otto and to honor Otto family’s rich heritage in Franklin County. Income from this fund will
support Franklin County projects.
Anita and Bill Ratz Wind Beneath My Wings Endowment – Established in 2007 by
anonymous donors to support the Brookville Volunteer Fire Department.
Lloyd R. Ratz Handicap Endowment – Established in 2000 by Lloyd R. Ratz to fund
educational and practical projects for the benefit of handicapped residents of Franklin County.
Salt Creek Nature Sanctuary Endowment – Established in 2000 by Donald G. and Patricia
Barnhart Kaufman to provide funds for education and practical projects to improve environmental
quality and heighten awareness of environmental issues in Franklin County.
Eugene "Tude" Schultz Memorial Endowment – Established in 2015 by Andy Schultz in
memory of Tude Schultz to provide support to the Bath Conservation Club’s charitable activities.
Bob & Marge Seibert Unrestricted Endowment – Established in 2007 by Marge Seibert to
honor her late husband, Bob, and his strong ties to Franklin County. Income from this fund will
support Franklin County projects.
St. Michael School Maintenance Endowment – Established in 2015 to provide support for
maintenance of St. Michael’s School.
Helen Strohmier Siebert Memorial Endowment – Established in 2007 by Doug and Jeff
Siebert to enhance the quality of life for citizens in Brookville and the surrounding area.
Hank & Georgianna Suding Family Endowment for St. Peter’s Cemetery – Established in
2015 in memory of Hank and Georgianna Suding to provide support for the St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Florence Underwood Memorial Endowment – Established in 2010 by Karen Niedenthal in
memory of Florence Underwood. Primary purpose is to provide assistance to St. Thomas
Lutheran Church for funeral meals.
Olivia Rebecca Waggoner Memorial Endowment – Established in 2005 by Jeff Waggoner and
Brenda Wilhelm-Waggoner in memory of Olivia Waggoner. Primary purpose is to provide
assistance to families that have suffered the death of a dependent child. Secondary purpose is to
benefit the Pregnancy Help Center of Brookville.
Whitewater Canal Trail Endowment – Established in 2008 by the Whitewater Canal Trail to
provide support to the Whitewater Canal Trail, Inc.
Bill and Marge Zimmer Family Endowment – Established in 2005 by Bill and Marge Zimmer
to benefit families going through financial crisis due to medical difficulties caused by childhood
cancer.
Education

Raymond H. and Leo C. Amrhein Family Fund – Established in 2003 by Joan Amrhein to
enhance the technological education of students at St. Michael School by providing financial
support for technological education.
Brookville Elementary School Tutoring Endowment – Established in 2004 by Judith Douglass
in memory of Loretta Renaker, a former teacher, this endowment provides funding for students in
need of academic assistance at Brookville Elementary School.
Harvey-Osborn Franklin County Historical Society Endowment
– Established in 2002 by the Franklin County Historical Society Board of Directors from the
Augusta Harvey Trust, this fund will provide an annual grant to a project or event promoting
historical education in Franklin County.
McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital Education Endowment – Established in 2006 by an
anonymous donor, this endowment provides funds for continuing education credits for Franklin
County employees of McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital.
SMART Endowment – Established in 2010 by Dr. Jean Langan and Michael Heins to provide
funding for the St. Michael School art program for supplies, equipment, display costs or special
projects.
Tri Kappa William D. Bradt Education Endowment – Established in 2010 by Beta Eta
Chapter of Tri Kappa to provide funding in the area of education through either a scholarship or
community grant.
Faith
Holy Guardian Angels Catholic Church Endowment – Established in 2004 by Ruth Fohl to
honor the founders of the Church, especially the Eva Rosenberger Fohl and Louis Dehner
families. Provides support for the continued maintenance of Holy Guardian Angels Catholic
Church and Holy Guardian Angels Church Cemetery.
Holy Guardian Angels Preservation Endowment – Established in 2015 by the Mary Meier
estate to provide support to the Guardian Angels Preservation Organization.
Scholarship
American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship – Established in 2003 by the American Legion
Auxiliary to provide a scholarship for qualified Franklin County residents graduating from high
school and have a demonstrated connection of the American Legion Auxiliary Bernard Hurst Post
77 or American Legion Bernard Hurst Post 7. Students may not be the valedictorian or
salutatorian of their class and must have demonstrated financial need.
Joe Bachus Memorial Soccer Scholarship – Established in 2007 by Thomas and Pamela
Bachus to provide a scholarship Franklin County High School students who have participated at
least 2 years in the soccer program, one year as a senior.
Clara A. Back Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2012 by the children of Clara A. Back
and their descendants to provide scholarships to students who reside in Franklin County and plan
to attend a college or university in the state of Indiana. The students must excel in Math and
provide a letter of recommendation from a current Math teacher.
Rebecca Baker Memorial Scholarship – Rebecca Baker, an FCHS student passed away after a
car accident. Established by Joanne Sottong, Rebecca’s employer at Arby’s in Brookville, to
provide an annual scholarship to a graduating FCHS student for the purpose of furthering their
education.

Mary & Chester Bommer Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2009 by Diana Galyen,
Robert Bommer and Roger Bommer. Primary consideration will be given to Franklin County
students that have been active in 4-H and are pursuing a degree in a field related to Agriculture,
Consumer Science or Natural Resources. Secondary consideration will be given to Franklin
County students that are members of FFA and are pursuing a degree in a field related to
Agriculture, Consumer Science or Natural Resources.
Joseph D. Codiano Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2002 by Ronald Cooper, Larry
Sheets and J. Rene Stivers to provide scholarships for students graduating from FCHS who are
deserving of financial assistance. Applicant must be nominated by a high school coach or athletic
director and have participated in a varsity high school sport or sports during their senior year.
Lance Cox Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2013 by the Jeannette Cox to provide
scholarships for residents of Franklin County who are currently attending or planning to attend
Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. If more than one applicant applies, primary
consideration will be given to students attending Earlham who are studying Biology or Geology.
Daughters of Isabella Scholarship – Established in 2005 by the Daughters of Isabella to provide
a scholarship to an FCHS or Oldenburg Academy graduate that is sponsored by a Daughters of
Isabella St. Catherine Circle #103 member.
Richard M. Dietz Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2011 by Mary Jo Dietz. This fund
will provide scholarships to Franklin County High School students who excel in Math or Science.
Sister Dominica Doyle Scholarship - Established in 2004 by Joanne Sottong to honor the former
St. Michael principal. Provides two scholarships annually – one scholarship for a seventh grade
St. Michael student to be used for the student’s eighth grade year and another to a St. Michael
graduate for the student’s college education.
Franklin County Arts Council Scholarship – Established in 2012 by Franklin County Arts
Council. This fund will provide scholarships to students residing in Franklin County who have a
GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. The student must have also participated in some genre of arts while in
high school such as band, chorus, drama, etc.
Franklin County Extension Homemakers Scholarship – Established in 2015 by the Franklin
County Extension Homemakers to provide scholarships to Franklin County students. Primary
consideration will be given to students who have a great-grandmother, grandmother, mother
or aunt who is currently active or was active in the past in the Franklin County Extension
Homemakers organization.
FCN Bank - William F. Hillman Scholarship – Established in 2007 by Dr. Randall W.
Listerman. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide college tuition assistance to eligible
children of parents employed by FCN Bank. The student must be entering their junior year of
college.
FCN Bank – Charles L. Masters Scholarship – Established in 2008 by Dr. Randall W.
Listerman. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide college tuition assistance to eligible
children of parents employed by FCN Bank. The student must be entering their senior year of
college.
FCN Bank - Norbert A. Riedman Memorial Scholarship – Established 2002, by the children
of Norbert Riedman, and the directors of FCN Bank. Mr. Riedman served as director of FCN

Bank for 34 years. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide college tuition assistance to
eligible children of parents employed by FCN Bank.
FCN Bank - William F. Reifel Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2006 by Dr. Randall W.
Listerman. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide college tuition assistance to eligible
children of parents employed by FCN Bank. The student must be entering their sophomore year
of college.
Will Frondorf Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2010 by Todd and Laura Frondorf.
Primary Consideration will be given to students who attended Learning Tree Pre-School and/or
Mt. Carmel School and are pursuing a field in Agriculture. Secondary consideration will be
given to students who are pursuing a field in Agriculture.
Harold & Mary Ann Geis Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2010 by Harold Geis. This
fund will provide scholarships to students residing in Franklin County who have been a student at
St. Michael School for a minimum of two years and who graduated from St. Michael School.
The student must also be a member of St. Michael Parish.
Justin Girdler Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2002, by Bob and Laura Beth Girdler to
honor their son, who was killed in a car accident. The annual scholarship is provided for a
graduating student pursuing a career in carpentry, welding, masonry or other technical-related
field, demonstrating financial need.
Maxwell James Grimmeissen Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2012 by the Keim and
Grimmeissen families to provide scholarships to Franklin County High School seniors who plan
to attend college to pursue a degree.
Nancy A. Hamilton Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2003 by Dr. William J. Untereker
and John H. Untereker to provide a scholarship for graduating seniors of FCHS who will pursue
study disciplines in education and who are first generation college students. Consideration will
be given to students who excel in English, Literature and the Language Arts.
Victor F. Hauberg Scholarship – Established anonymously in 1999 in honor of Victor F.
Hauberg, a teacher, guidance counselor and civic leader, to provide an annual scholarship to a
graduating FCHS student for the purpose of furthering their education.
Bradley T. Hofer Memorial Agriculture Scholarship – Established in 2008 by Jim and Faye
Hofer and family to provide scholarships for students from FCHS who have been involved in the
Agriculture program and plan to continue their education in Agriculture.
Tim Hinderberger Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2013 by Lauren Hinderberger to
provide scholarships to students who will be playing baseball or softball in college;
Secondary consideration will be given to students pursuing a degree in the field of either
Forestry or Welding.
Art & Carol Hildebrand/Tony & Valerie Windle Scholarship Endowment – Established in
2015 to provide scholarships for high school seniors or current college students who are residents
of Franklin, Fayette or Ripley Counties in Indiana, or Harrison, Ohio, and are pursuing an
undergraduate degree in Physical Education (Coaching), Nursing or Teaching.
Don and Glenda Iacobucci Scholarship – Established in 2002 by Dominic and Glenda
Iacobucci to provide scholarships for students graduating from East Central High School,
Franklin County High School, or Harrison High School. Students must be or be the child of

parents who are actively involved in a local Christian Church. Preference given to applicants
attending Rockdale United Methodist Church.
It’s Never Too Late Scholarship – Established in 2007 by Rose Mary Stirn to provide
scholarships to Franklin County residents who are at least 25 years old and are wishing to
continue their education or change careers by taking classes to be used as credit toward a degree
program or certification.
Donald M. Jobe Scholarship – Established in 2002 by Rebecca Stewart to honor the retirement
of Mr. Jobe. Provides a scholarship for students graduating from FCHS. Primary consideration
given to students who plan to study education with the intention of becoming a teacher.
Orbin and Maymie Kelly Scholarship – Established in 2003 by Maymie Kelly to provide a
scholarship for FCHS graduating seniors who wish to study education or nursing and have
demonstrated financial need.
Kyle Jordan Kerr Memorial Scholarship - Kyle Kerr was an honor student at Mt. Carmel
School where he attended from kindergarten to the eighth grade. He loved 4-H and was
President of the Oxford Pioneers 4-H club. Kyle spent countless hours at the fairgrounds
preparing for the 4-H fair. He also showed his passion for farming by working on his family’s
farm. Kyle will always be remembered for his contagious smile and for his love for life and his
family and friends. Established in 2011 by his family to honor his memory, this scholarship is
for FCHS students who attended Mt. Carmel School and are current members of 4-H.
Freda and George Kremp Scholarship – Established 1999 by Ruth Kremp Stang to award a
scholarship to a graduating FCHS student for the purpose of furthering their education.
Walter and Marie Kremp Scholarship – Established in 1999 by Marie Kremp to provide an
annual scholarship to a graduate of FCHS for the purpose of furthering their education.
Robert and Colleen Kuntz Family Scholarship - Established in 2005 by the Robert and
Colleen Kuntz family to provide scholarships for educators in Franklin County seeking
continuing education. Primary consideration will be given to St. Michael School teachers.
Secondary consideration will be given to teachers at Brookville Elementary School.
Nathan F. Lake Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2011 by Francis and Joyce Lake to
provide an annual scholarship to a Franklin County High School student or Franklin County High
School graduate who is a ten year 4-H member or who has been involved in FFA.
Leo “Lee” Lamping Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2004 by the Lamping family to
honor Lee, a 2002 Franklin County High School Graduate. Provides an annual scholarship to an
FCHS graduate attending Mt. Saint Joseph College.
Edna Landreth – Springfield Township School Alumni Association Scholarship –
Established in 2010 by Ken and Jan Landreth. Provides an annual scholarship to a student
residing in Springfield Township in Franklin County, Indiana who plans to attend Ball State
University.
George E. McKinney Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2000 by Victor Hauberg to honor
the former Brookville High School Principal. Awarded annually to a graduating FCHS student
who wishes to continue his or her education.
Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Scholarship – Established in 2005 by Reverend Bill
Arthur and his wife Bettie to provide scholarships. Primary consideration will be given to

students who are members of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church. Secondary consideration will be
given to students who attended Mt. Carmel School.
James P. Mullin and Mary M. Mullin Memorial Scholarship – Established in 1999 by Mary
M. Mullin to provide an annual scholarship to a resident of Franklin County who wishes to
further their education as a full-time student at Earlham College.
Naylor Family Scholarship - Established in 2011 by Nancy Bodnar and Richard Naylor to honor
their parents. This fund will provide scholarships to graduating Franklin County residents who
have been involved in Franklin County 4-H.
Ellis Newman Education Scholarship – Established anonymously in 2000 to fund an annual
scholarship for an FCHS graduate who will be pursuing a degree in primary or secondary
education for the purpose of becoming a teacher.
Tom O’Connor Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2013 by Joann O’Connor to provide an
annual scholarship for a college student who is a resident of Franklin County and is a Junior,
Senior or Graduate School student.
Cynthia Oehlman Foreign Language Scholarship – Established in 1999 by Martha and Ed
Oehlman to fund the further education of an FCHS graduate who wishes to pursue the study of a
foreign language.
Elinda Pennington Memorial Scholarship - Established in 2008 by Herschel Pennington.
Primary consideration is to be given to a student who is completing their undergraduate studies
and continuing their education to become a Veterinarian. Secondary consideration is to be given
to a Franklin County High School Student who plans to study in the Veterinarian field.
Willard H. and Marie C. Petersen Scholarship – Established in 1999 by Marie C. Petersen to
provide an annual scholarship to a graduate of FCHS for the purpose of furthering their
education.
Alta A. Profitt Scholarship – Established in 2000 by William and Anita Ratz in honor of Alta A.
Profitt, a Brookville early childhood educator, to provide funds to further the education of a
graduating senior of Franklin County High School who attended Tot Spot Nursery School, until
the year 2015 after which time it will be awarded to any qualifying student.
Christopher R. Profitt Foreign Language Scholarship - Established in 2006 by Ralph, Alta
and Jennifer Profitt in memory of Christopher R. Profitt. The purpose of the scholarship is to
provide assistance Franklin County High School students who are studying foreign language in
college.
Dickie Rosenberger Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2011 by Trisha, Blake and Brittany
Rosenberger. This scholarship will be available for students graduating from Franklin County
High School who plans to study in a technical related field.
Maury & Mary Schott Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2005 by Mary Schott and
Michelle Brier in memory of Maury Schott. Mary’s name was added to the fund after she passed
away in 2014. Provides scholarships to further the education of one FCHS male senior and one
FCHS female senior who have been involved in the golf program.
Mary Willhelm Schwegman Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2002by Rita Willhelm to
provide an annual scholarship to a student graduating from Batesville High School or FCHS.
Primary consideration will be given to students who will study nursing or education.

Clayton “Clay” John Seale Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2012 by Joel and Debbie
Seale to provide an annual scholarship to a Franklin County High School graduating senior who
is pursuing a degree in Automotive Technology or a similar field.
David Seufert Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2009 by Shirley Seufert, David’s mother.
Primary consideration will be given to FCHS seniors going into Medical related fields.
Secondary consideration will be given to FCHS seniors involved in athletics.
Alvin Smith Memorial Scholarship - Established in 2005 by Gertrude Smith to provide
scholarships for FCHS students. Every four years, an FCHS graduating senior will receive the
scholarship. The student will be eligible for the scholarship for four years, until graduation.
Preference will be given to students who graduated from Laurel Elementary School.
Charles K. and Betty L. Sprague Family Endowment – Established in 2008 by Charley and
Betty Sprague to provide scholarships for FCHS graduates who plan to study education with the
intent of becoming an elementary, high school or special education teacher.
Howard and Ruth Stang Scholarship – Established in 2002 by Ruth Stang to provide a
scholarship for students graduating from FCHS who have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Cora Stegner Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2002 by Kenneth and Janice Landreth to
provide a scholarship for students graduating from FCHS. Preference given to students who will
attend Ball State University and study education.
Colleen Currens Stevens Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2005 by Jean and Craig
Currens. Provides funding for a female FCHS senior who has been involved in athletics for the
purposes of furthering her education.
Doug Stirn Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2002 by Rosemary Stirn, provides a
scholarship for students graduating from FCHS who are deserving of financial assistance.
Primary consideration given to students who plan to pursue a medical profession.
Misty Dawn Surguy Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2007 by Misty’s parents,
grandmother and sisters. Provides scholarships for FCHS seniors who have had to overcome
adversity in high school such as physical or health related disabilities.
Jonathan Tinch Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2014 provide scholarships to
graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate or graduate college students who
are residents of Franklin County, Indiana or Fayette County, Indiana. The students must
have been diagnosed with leukemia or another type of blood cancer or have someone in
their immediate family who has been diagnosed with leukemia or another type of blood
cancer.
David Lee Verbryke Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2012 by David’s parents,James
Verbryke & Karen Rosselot-Verbryke. Provides scholarships for students residing in Franklin
County studying in a field related to language arts.
Stanley “Bud” & Marilyn White Diabetes Assistance Scholarship – Established in 2013 by
Dave White to honor his parents. Provides educational assistance in the form of scholarships to
current college students who are residents of Franklin County. Applicants for the scholarship
must have Type 1 diabetes and require insulin for treatment.

Warren Wyatt Wells Scholarship – Established in 2002 by Yvonne Wells to honor her
husband, an entrepreneur. Provides an annual scholarship to a graduate of FCHS for the purpose
of furthering their education.
Lewis & Rosalie Wilson Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2009 by the children of Lewis
& Rosalie Wilson. Primary consideration will be given to students residing in Franklin County
who are attending Purdue University to study in an Agriculture related field.
