Unsolved Mysteries Research Project

Ever wondered what happened to Tupac? What is the Loc Ness Monster? In this project, you will investigate an unsolved mystery. You may choose a mystery from the following list of have one approved by me; however, you must make sure that there is enough information for a research paper! You must have at least on book, one article and one other source, which can be an internet source, pamphlet, or newspaper article.

Research Assignment:

1. Choose a topic from the above list and have it approved by me.

2. Research the topic at the library.

3. Gather at least THREE sources a. You must have one book and two other sources of your choice.

4. Your paper must be at least three pages long.

5. In your paper, you must: a. Explain the background of the mystery or phenomenon. b. Indicate why this has become famous. (Why are people fascinated by this mystery/phenomenon?) c. Explain the mystery/phenomenon’s current situation. (Have they solved the mystery? Have they given up? Are they using new methods to solve the mystery?) d. Include a bibliography e. Have at least one citation from each source that you use. (If you use three sources, then you must have at least three citations (one from each) in your paper.

f. Utilize the six traits of writing.

Project Assignment:

1. In addition to writing your paper, you are responsible for presenting a project.

2. Your presentation must be between 3 to 5 minutes long.

3. You must have a poster or other type of visual representation of your material.

4. You will include pictures and interesting information during your presentation.
