Where will the NHCFM be located?
The Market will be located at 4300 Xylon Avenue N in the Kmart parking lot. The open-air market will have plenty of
adjacent parking. A special thanks goes out to Kmart for allowing us the use of the space! The Market is conveniently
located in New Hope’s City Center – the commercial and civic hub of the city.
When will the NHCFM operate?
Opening on Saturday June 13th, 2009, and running through October 17th, New Hope Community Farmers Market will
be open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 pm.
What would it cost to have a table at the NHCFM?
The cost for a vendor table will be $20-$45 per week depending on size. Discounts will be available for full season
space and “early bird” reservations. Northwest suburban (New Hope, Plymouth, Brooklyn Park, Crystal,
Robbinsdale, Crystal, Golden Valley) businesses are also eligible for a discount. There will be a $20 application fee.
Non-profit organizations can reserve table space at no cost as space permits.
Who will operate the NHCFM?
NHCFM is established as a 501(c)4 non-profit governed by a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of local
residents, local food growers and producers, area business members and city officials who have a vision of success
and growth for the New Hope Community Farmers Market and the City of New Hope and surrounding areas.
A Board-appointed Market Manager and Market Coordinator, do all of the “leg-work” including vendor recruitment,
marketing, application processing, and operation of the Market.
Corporate and community sponsorship
The NHCFM is supported by community and business sponsorships as well as vendor fees. The NHCFM is only
possible through donations and volunteers.
What is the marketing plan for attracting customers?
A large group of farmers, food producers, artists and crafters like you have received information about the market.
We did this to ensure the Market would have a healthy representation of various vendors. We want to make the
NHCFM as interesting and unique as possible so we welcome all types of vendors to apply. With that in mind, the
main focus of the Market is the farmers.
Community awareness will happen through various City of New Hope publications; local media via press releases
and articles; public service announcements and advertising; mailers; website and traditional word of mouth.
Summary
New Hope is a strong, proud, diverse community that would realize many financial and community strengthening
benefits from the development of a community farmers market. The NHCFM will serve as the “front porch” of the
community where people will come to shop, relax, visit with neighbors, and enjoy the day.
The impacts would be profound: the revival of the City Center area; the increased support of local farmers and
artists; the positive environmental benefits of shopping local; and most importantly, a place to create community
and foster strong relationships between residents, vendors, business owners and city officials.
The farmers market concept is a growing market. There are several in the Twin Cities area but there is no such
market within the immediate cities of New Hope, Plymouth, Crystal, Robbinsdale, or Golden Valley. This creates a
tremendous customer base to draw upon of nearly 150,000 residents.
We encourage you to consider becoming a vendor at the New Hope Community Farmers Market. Please contact us
with any questions. We look forward to doing business with you.
