Newspaper Project
Now that we have finished reading the epic poem Beowulf, you will create a newspaper with
the following requirements:
1.
Name of Newspaper and date—remember this poem was written around
500 AD, so your name and date should reflect this.
2.
One major headline and story reflecting a major event in the narrative and a
picture.
ex: Grendel’s first murderous event
Beowulf’s arrival in Denmark
Beowulf’s battle with Grendel
Grendel’s mother’s revenge
Beowulf’s battle with the mother
Beowulf’s last battle
Beowulf’s death
3.
One advertisement and picture reflecting the time period.
4.
One human interest article and picture – your choice.
This can be an article about Herot (the mead hall), Beowulf’s
background, and interview with one of the main characters, the lairs of
the monsters, or any other topic that fits this time period and epic poem.
