Romeo and Juliet is a story about two teenagers. They are from two families,
which hate each other, but they fall in love. One is Romeo, the only son of Montague
and the other is Juliet, only daughter of Capulet.
One day, Juliet is forced to get married by her mother. She does not want to get
married with the man she doesn’t love so she finds Friar Laurence for help. Laurence
gives her a special poison which can make her sleep for forty-two hours. Then
Laurence wants to pass the message that Juliet is just sleeping but Romeo takes the
true poison and dies. Juliet wakes up and finds Romeo dead. She dies with Romeo in
the name of love. Finally, Laurence explains that they love each other and the two
families stop hating each other.
I like this book although Romeo and Juliet die in the ending. I think it is a pity
that Romeo and Juliet are not being able to love each other when they are alive.
However, they eventually die together. It is very foolish of these two families to hate
each other, which makes Romeo and Juliet pitiful. Actually, it is a splendid story
because the plot is compact. In the story, Romeo and Juliet encounter problems when
they are in love and at the ending they still cannot be together. That makes me think it
is a sorrowful story and everyone who reads it will definitely feel upset.
My favourite character of this story is Friar Laurence. I think he is open-minded
because when he knows Romeo and Juliet are in love, he does not stop them with the
reason of being born in feud. Instead he helps them secretly to be together. He is also
clever because he has thought about stopping those two families hatred through
Romeo and Juliet’s love. It is meaningful too.
Finally, I would recommend this book to my friends because this book is very
famous and it is amazing. From this story, I learnt that we must be friends and not
hate one another. Love will change the world.
