Year 7 Art Homework 2013/14
Term 1
Research types of insects. Produce a detailed tonal
drawing of one in your sketchbook. Stick in a printout of the insect next to your drawing
Deadline: 25th October
Term 2
Design your own insect superhero and draw it in
your sketchbook. Add colour in a media of your
choice.
Deadline: 20th December
Term 3
Use the internet and library to find out about the
artist Andre Derain. Present images and
information on a double spread page in your
sketchbook.
Deadline: 14th February
Term 4
Andre Derain is an artist who was part of the
Expressionist art movement. Find another artist
who was also part of it, write about them and
draw/paint one of their pieces.
Deadline: 4th April
Term 5
Research Aboriginal stories. Draw one in your
sketchbook using Aboriginal symbols. Add colour.
Deadline: 30th May
Term 6
Design your own Aboriginal boomerang. Draw it on
cardboard, add colour and cut it out. Bring it to
class for display.
Deadline: 18th July
NB: If you fail to do art HW then you will completed it in a 45 minute
detention after school
Year 8 Art Homework 2013/14
Term 1
Research types of fish, select one and
print/photocopy it. Produce a detailed tonal
drawing of it in your sketchbook. Stick the printout/photocopy next to your drawing.
Deadline: 25th October
Term 2
Fill a page in your sketchbook with a drawing of a
fish tank. Select the types of fish and plants you
will include. Add colour in a media of your choice.
Deadline: 20th December
Term 3
Produce an observational drawing of a tin or jar
of food from your kitchen cupboard. Use pencil or
biro to draw with. Include a full tonal range.
Deadline: 14th February
Term 4
Roy Lichtenstein is an artist who was part of the
Pop Art movement. Research his work and
produce your own artwork in response.
Deadline: 4th April
Term 5
Produce a portrait of a North American Indian in
sepia tones.
Deadline: 30th May
Term 6
Fill a page in your sketchbook with cave
paintings/drawings. Depict a hunting scene.
Deadline: 18th July
