Introduction
Michael Jackson was only fifty years young when he died from cardiac arrest
from drug overdose. He was man who was known for his popular music and innovative
dance moves. His death affected millions from all over the world in many different ways.
He was a man who brought fans from all over the world together with his music,
performances, and unusual lifestyle. The research that is going to be conducted is going
to examine the affect of his life and death on college students in western Pennsylvania. It
will give us some insight on the thoughts and reactions of his death. The research will
bring some closer to fans that would like to know if others feel the same way. It will
allow others to vent that may have not had a chance to before. Not much research has
been conducted about the affect of his death and the affect of fans from a college base.
Michael was a man of many faces and you could say a man of many races. He
suffered a lot of scrutiny for his multiple plastic surgeries and numerous scandals. After
his death many mourned through celebrating his life, even as far as fans attempting
suicide. His death affected me and my family in a way unimaginable. Jackson brought
my family together from his 1982 thriller album to his 2005 child molestation trial. After
his death we as fans started to appreciate his work more, record sales went up, his music
started to get played more often and the sale of Michael Jackson stuff on eBay went
through the roof. I can’t speak for everyone because who is everyone but I can speak on
behalf of myself and say “I did start to appreciate his music more and I did start to play
his music more.”
The research in this paper has come from combined Refereed Journals, numerous
internet articles, books, and other publications. Most of this research is authentic research
that has been done by me. The topic here is “What affect did the death of Michael
Jackson have on college students in western Pennsylvania?” You might wonder why that
has and significance to anyone. From watching the news and reading the news paper you
might have noticed after his death their was a uproar, and what I got out of that was he
must of impacted a lot of people. Knowing what affect his death had on college students
might help you or maybe the next man vent and get closer to why you are feeling this
way. Why are you feeling this way a man who put out a few albums and has a few
abnormal scandals in his life? The research has come from four different universities in
western Pennsylvania. College students who attend the University of Pittsburgh, Indiana
University of Pennsylvania, California University of Pennsylvania and Slippery Rock
University have participated in my research and have given good feedback. More than
fifty percent of the research has been conducted at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Analytically analyzed is how this paper is presented. It is to be represented in a
non biased way that gives readers an equal aspect on Jackson’s death. The reason for an
analytical research paper because I have no particular position on this topic, I am not
trying to prove anyone wrong and I am not trying to prove anyone right. The authentic
research will give a new batch of information on a pop icon that was not represented in a
biased way. The authentic research justifies the question I am asking that a literary
review would never answer.
Michael was a man who died young and had an impact on millions. I am
researching what kind of affect his death had on people but mainly college students in
western Pennsylvania. Michael went through a lot of trials and tribulations in his life,
those trial and tribulations made him the man who he is today. The authentic research is
coming from a non bias standpoint not meant to sway anyone’s opinion. The opinions I
wanted to get are actually opinions which can answer my question of “What affect did
Michael Jackson’s death have on college students in western Pennsylvania? The results
are analytically analyzed which gives an opinionated review of the research.
