Criteria:
 Must be willing to attend entire NBCC Advocate Summit
 Must be a constituent (registered Iowa voter)
 Must be willing to return and help mobilize and engage the Cedar Valley in
Breast Cancer Deadline 2020.
Overview
BPT and the Witwer family will provide a scholarship of $1400 to an eligible breast
cancer advocate to attend the 2014 National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund (NBCCF)
Advocate Leadership Summit. The Summit is geared toward advocates of all experience
levels who want to help lead in the breast cancer movement and Breast Cancer
Deadline 2020. This extraordinary meeting will offer you ways to:
 Network with the most highly-committed and motivated group of leaders ever
assembled in the world of breast cancer.
 Interact with scientists, thought leaders, innovators and visionaries in small,
intimate groups
 Get dynamic world-class, advanced leadership training.
 Hear about research on prevention and breast cancer metastasis as well as on
cutting edge topics in the areas of systems change and health care delivery.
 Understand the Administration and Congress in preparation for Lobby Day.
 Learn best practices from other leaders who are implementing their state and
individual action plans.
 Develop NBCC’s grassroots strategic planning for year five of Breast Cancer
Deadline 2020.

Requirements; To be eligible to participate in the BPT Scholarship Program, the
following requirements must be met:






Complete the BPT Scholarship Form.
Use scholarship funds to pay summit fee ($1000), which includes registration,
three nights lodging, and 6 meals plus most transportation costs (approximately
$400).
Attend the entire summit from May 3-6, 2014
Attend the entire Lobby Day session (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) on May 6, and
lobby for NBCC priorities only
Fund all costs the scholarship does not cover.
Refund the BPT scholarship if you are unable to attend the entire Summit.
