Propaganda is used in politics to convince people to vote for a certain person, join a party, or support a cause. B. In entertainment it can be used to influence people to believe stereotypes, or unrealistic things about life. C. Propaganda can also be used to convince people that they need certain things to live, for example advertising. II. Entertainment A. Propaganda is all over the TV, especially in news-related politics and advertising. B. The “Why We Fight” series shows the Nazi propaganda machine. C. An example of propaganda in cartoons is a picture of a couple watching TV and the only thing on the screen is the word “LIES”, to imply that anything seen on TV is not truthful III. World War II. A. South Park shows stereotypes about certain classes of people through entertainment and television. C. Movies 1. Colors was a movie that was recognized for its realistic view of gangs in L.A. 2. Wag the Dog satires how naïve society is and how people's reaction to propaganda encourages the media to produce more and more.
