Aims:
 requires students to demonstrate their level of reading comprehension by
completing some task
 requires correlation of reading purposes with communicative competence: a
student's reading level is the level at which that student is able to use reading to
accomplish communication goals.
FUNCTIONS:
- to describe according to the information in the text/picture;
- to initiate discussion and short conversations;
- to make guesses;
- to talk about future possible and probable events and actions.
Skills covered: speaking, listening, reading and writing as integrated skills.
Aids: blackboard;
 textbook by Liz and John Soars;
 PowerPoint presentation about superstitions;
 photocopied worksheets from New Headway by John and Liz Soars, OUP, 2003;
 handouts
 dictionaries;
 over-head projector.

AIMS OF LESSON: by the end of the lesson students will be able to:
- use If clause in order to express conditioning of a future event;
- develop and practice their productive skills and receptive skills (writing, speaking, listening);
- reinforce vocabulary in order to promote discussion and to practice language in a particular
context;
- ask and answer about future predictions.
