It is a free App, 44 Classic books. HONORS Assignment: 1. Keep a journal as you read each book and take copious notes. Your Summer Reading Journal will be collected in early September. 2. Give examples of symbols used in the story and foreshadowing clues. Give two or three examples of both literary elements in your Journal for each novel. 3. Your notes should do more than summarize the plot of the story. Think about what you read and analyze the stories. 4. Write your opinions about the characters and their conflicts. Predict what will happen to them and discuss the choices they make in your journal entries. 5. Write a minimum of fifteen journal entries for each book you read. Include the page number along with each entry as you complete the reading of the book. 6. You will write a thematic (theme) essay, complete a project, and write book outlines in September. Regents: Within the first weeks of school, you will have a writing assignment that requires your extensive knowledge of the summer reading. It is highly recommended that you take copious notes during your reading so that you may easily complete the assignment without having to reread your books in the fall.
